Check up

I had a check up on Thursday. I am 1 year 2 months out. I have lost a total of 126 since surgery and 145 since my highest weight. It looks like there is another surgery in my future. I have to have another hernia repair. This will be the 5th surgery I will have since my original surgery last May. During the hernia repair, they are also going to do a panniculectomy which is the only bright side of it. Just wanted to let everyone know what's been going on. I know I don't get on much and post, but there's just not as much going on with my weight loss. As a matter of fact it fluctuates some now. I do read the posts and keep up with everyone though. Hope everyone is trying to stay cool.

How close are you to your goal weight? Will they do the panniculectomy through your insurance? Or will you have to pay for it yourself? How many hernia repairs have you had? I'm asking all of this because I have an abdominal hernia and my doc said to wait until I'd lost more weight. I'm hoping that I'll be able to get a panniculectomy done at the same time and not cost me anything. Wishful thinking, huh? I'd also like to have my arms done.

This is the 2nd or 3rd hernia repair. I don't know for sure if they done a repair during one of my emergency surgeries or not. I was thinking the doctor said he haid, but I was pretty out of it during that time. I had one in March. I have maybe 20 more pounds to go to reach my goal. I have already met the goal the doctor set for me. And unfortunately my insurance does not cover panniculectomy. But I am hoping with the hernia repair, there won't be that much extra that I have to pay.

Hi Rita! So good to hear from you! I am in the same boat as you.......I need a hernia repair too, but I'm waiting until I lose these last 20 pounds so I can have a tummy tuck at the same time and remove all this disgusting loose hanging skin. Wow Shelli you look awesome. I'm not loosing anymore . I am having the tummy tuck along with my hernia too. My insurance will probably not pay for it, but I am hoping with pay for most of the rest of it due to the hernia. Anyway, I just wanted to say how great you look. I remember when I hit that under 200 mark, I felt great, just wish I could loose the 20 pounds I want to loose to hit my personal goal. Doc says I will probably loose 10 with the panniculectomy. I would like to loose more. Rita
