Everything is now in to Dr. Scott's office...... Now what?
Good for you Jeff!
Im glad that everything came together and it is in... remember that it might take a couple of three weeks before you will hear anything. The wait will be worth it. I had Dr. Scott and he's great... you are in wonderful hands!
I know this is a time of not really knowing what is coming next and the excitment of it.... but hang in there and keep us posted. We are cheering you on so you can come and be with us on the "loosers" bench. Always got plenty of room for one more!
Good luck on the begining of your journey to a healthier and happier you! You are worth the time and effort to get you there! Remember that!
Take Care

Jeff,
Dr. Scott is my surgeon too. I got my acceptance letter from him within a few weeks of submitting my application. It didn't take long at all.
I had my consult with him this Wednesday, and I am having surgery on 7/26. I was shocked to get scheduled that soon. For some reason there was an opening that day. Otherwise, they are scheduling for mid-August. I really don't think you will have to wait too much longer to hear. Good luck!!
Linda
Thanks Ardie and Linda!
Yes, right now I'm questioning myself as to if I'm doing the right thing. Even though in my mind I'm positive it is, I'm 47 years old and I've hardly ever even had to go to the doctor before. I've never been cut on in any way shape or form and now after 16 years I'm single again. It is a very scarey proposal for me right now....
Jeff
Jeff,
You are the only one who can make this decision. My husband keeps reminding me I can still change my mind, even up to the morning of surgery. He suggests doing it before anesthesia, though
I don't think Dr. Scott will agree to operate on someone who doesn't need the surgery. Before you get a surgery date, you will meet with him; and he will be very honest with you. I saw him Wednesday, and he answered all of my and my husband's questions. He was very honest.
He told me he does not want to talk anyone into the surgery. It has to be solely the patient's decision. His office receives a lot of applications every day, and he isn't looking for business.
Since I am still pre-op, I may not be the best person to help you. You might want to post your question to the main OH message board. I think you will get a number of responses there.
Good luck in whatever you decide to do. Feel free to e-mail. I'm a good listener.
Linda
To get the ball rolling, I would call them often and ask Natalie what the status is on your insurance. Then make sure you ask her if she has submitted it. She will tell you that you will get a letter confirming that it was sent. I didnt wait for all that mess, I was too anxious, so I called them 2-3 times a wee****il I got the answer I wanted. Once you get that letter, then bug the insurance till you get an answer. If you are on medicaid, it only took them 2-3 days to approve me. The rest of the wait was on Natalie and Dr Scott.
We have all had our doubts at one time or another and if someone says they havent, they are lying. There is always the what-ifs of this procedure but it is worth it.
