i got the job
Hey everyone. I just had to post this because it means so much to me. Today, I was called and told that my name was going in front of the board for a speech pathology position in the public school system in Caruthersville, MO. Well, received a call tonight telling me that I need to go to the school on Monday and sign my contract...... *dances*
I finally have the public school position that i wanted and worked so hard for!
Hey Kimberly Congrats!!!!!!!!!! I know that will be a wonderful experience for you and you will enjoy working with the kids. I am also a speech pathologist in St. Joe, Mo. and have had positions with school systems. It was exciting. Is this your first job or have you had experience with other types of speech positions? Did you go to school in Missouri or other state? Let me know maybe we could keep in contact. I am happy for you
Becky Weber
I graduated in December of last year from Southeast Missouri State University. I was hired in a headstart from August of last year to May of this year. The only public school experience I had was doing my student teaching in elementary education and early childhood education. I have not had any type of speech pathology training. They said that they were going to get some sort of provisional thing and train me.
I would love to keep in contact with you.
P.S. I just got my contract in the mail today..... WOOHOO.... When I read it, I cried again!!!!
Why am I so emotional?
Oh, the director called me when I was at my friends.... she called on my cell. When I got home, I opened the door and told my grandma and uncle that I was chosen for the job. I was expecting to hear a Great Job...or an I'm proud of you... I didn't hear anything. It took me a minute to remember they they aren't here anymore. I don't know if you all remember, but they both passed away in the same week of February of this year...... I still cry because I want to hear my grandma tell me she is proud of me..... *wipes tears*
