Requiring Insurers to Offer Obesity Surgery Coverage

All, Check out: http://www.house.state.mo.us/bills051/bills/hb84.htm This Missouri bill would require all insurers who do business in the state to offer policy holders the option of coverage for obesity surgery. This is a great step! After all, how is it that insurers get to pick and choose which FDA-approved procedures should, and should not be, offered to policy holders??!! In my opinion, for the average person who cannot afford to drop $30-K on surgery, it's like they are playing God with our lives and health! Stick it to the insurers, and loudly voice your opinion to your political leaders! If you don't know who your state legislator(s) is, go to: http://www.house.state.mo.us/ and use the legislator look-up on the right side of the page. Don't let your legislator tell you that it isn't fiscally responsible to enforce this law; they are just listening too much to the insurance lobbyists! The big insurance companies are using OUR money to pay for these lobbyists, so it's up to US to use our voices to counter the lobbyists. If they can afford to pay for lobbyists, they can afford to offer obesity surgery coverage! Go get 'em!!!!!! Thank you! - Beth
