I am new...encouragement appreciated :)
I am new to this site, my father suggested it-as he had RNY through New Start in St Louis a year or two ago.....I have read and read and looked at pics and spent the last 2 days pouring over the incredible amount of info on this site. I am not sure of my insurance coverage...but have emailed the New Start program to get everything started. I am 30, divorced, mother of a 9 y/o little girl. I am 5' 7", 368 lbs.....just moved back to Cape Girardeau for a new job. I am-of course-miserable...and think I have gained at least 20 lbs since moving the end of march.....the new job is stressful. (much less leaving family and friends behind) I really have no idea why I'm rambling....(except that I am prone to it...hehe) but any suggestions or encouraging words you could share would be appreciated more than you know! I don't really know the protocol for beginning my journey.....
Take care, and hugs to all...
Robyn
Hi, Robyn! Welcome to OH.
You are right, there is a LOT of information here. Lots of support, too.
Good luck with your journey. It can be thrilling, maddening, hopeful, and frustrating all at the same time. But we'll help when we can.

Welcome to the site. I have to tell you that I have had nothing but good things come out of this website. I wanted to say that you are in good company. I am glad that you are finally making the choice to do the surgery because as a fellow (fatty) we both know that we have tried everything before. I am having my consult with my surgeon tommorrow and I am pretty excited about it. Just one step closer to where I want to be. I am waiting for insurance to approve but I think I will eventually get approved. Anyway I am excited for you and hope that you enjoy this website. I love going on the chat room on obesityhelp.com they have really helped me alot. When I have questions or I just need to rant someone is always in there to help me or calm my nerves. Good luck, Penni
