My dad
I smiled today because my father's body is being buried today but I know his spirit is in heaven. My father was an awesome man and a wonderful Christian. I thought I'd share what my daughter, who is 14 and the youngest granddaughter, is going to read at the funeral. It really sums up his life.
Dear Poppy,
I thought I could stand on my own. Come to find out, I donÕt know everything. Come to find out every time IÕd fallen and thought I got up on my own, it was you praying for me and looking out for me. You were our God-connection. Every time we strayed you were there to lead us back. You were our pastor, our teacher, our Poppy, but after awhile, the teacher knows their students are ready to go out on their own. There comes a day when the teacher has nothing left to teach and so, leaves. I know we all might think we canÕt go on without you, but you know we can. You always had faith in us, and I believe up in heaven youÕre watching us and you always will be. I canÕt wait until I see you up there. No pain, no suffering, just perfection. So, I guess itÕs so long for now.
Love,
Jenny
BTW, I'm now down 122 lbs. This last week has jumpstarted my weight loss again. I wouldn't recommend it as a way to lose weight, though.
