I'm jumping for joy(4 week post op visit)
Hi everyone,
Just wanted to let everyone know how I did for my first month post op. I went to the dr yesterday and found out that I lost 30 lbs in my first 4 weeks. Well if that wasn't exciting news then I don't know what is. But the great part was the night before I went through some clothes that I had outgrown like a year and half ago and 2 years ago, and I now have 7 pairs of "new" shorts and 5 "new" pants to wear that I can fit into and they are not snug at all either. Well then to top off yesterday, after wearing pants that I haven't wore in almost a year, and then going to the dr and finding out I lost 30 lbs, I went to my gym. I can't work out yet, but I had talked to my personal trainer and told her that I came in 6 weeks ago and did measurements, and then on May 25th I had WLS and that I was now 4 weeks post op and I would really like to come in again and get measured, well she of course was excited as me and told me to come on in and she would get me measured. Well when I went in there and got measured I almost did cartwheels............I knew my body was changing, but I didn't realize how much it had. I had lost a total of 21 inches throughout my body, and I also lost 16 lbs of fat. My BMI only went down 1 but who cares about that, 21 inches lost forever, and 30 lbs lost forever...............that is something to celebrate. So tonight when I got off work, I went and had my hair done. Going to try to get pictures tonight so I can show off the new me.
So for anyone of you that are considering the surgery, I still to this day have not regretted one single second. This was the absolute best thing I could have ever done for myself.

Hi Theresa,
I haven't posted much in awhile but I am almost 14 most post-op and I bet you will never regret this choice.I sure do not!! What excitement for you to have lost so much and to say it's gone forever it's soooooo nice isn't it? I do not want to lose anymore weight and am just focussing on working out and toning up...so good to be at this phase. I wish you many more happy weighing and measuring days!! They will be frequent now! Just remember that the scale may not always move but you'll be seeing changes in other ways at those times. Keep trying on those smaller clothes and you'll be surprised they actually fit sometimes! I loved going to Goodwill while I was losing quickly and trying that next size smaller on! What a high that is when they fit!!
Good luck on the rest of your journey.....it's so much fun!

Hi Theresa,
I am sooooo glad to hear your doing so well~! And wow 30 lbs~! Woo Hoo 4 .
And the inches gone is outstanding, I hope I am losing some inches too. So far I am down, I think now 45 lbs total, but 37, 38 since surgery. I am just glad its down and not up...
Clothes,,, I tried a pair of shorts on the other day and realized I havent had them on in 3+ yrs.. Thats pretty scary when you think about it, well that and the fact that I am that cheap and kept them, LOL.
So, how did the appt go? And what new foods can you have? I am going on 7-5-05 for weigh in, hopefully good news, and new foods. I am on the soups and jellos etc and they are getting a wee old. Although mashed potatoes with beef, chicken broth isnt bad. I tried new potatoes all purreed and well blah comes to mind... I am getting used to Sugar free pudding, but Bill was wrong it isnt the same.. LOL.
Glad to hear all is going so well and post the pics soon.

WooHoo!!! Great job girlfriend, keep it up. I am almost 8 months post op and the change is unbelievable. I have lost 135 pounds for good. This is amazing to me, I can't wait for Christmas because I have family members that have not seen me since before my surgery and they will be surprised.
