Hello everyone, I'm going to be traveling to visit my boyfriends parents in Utah and would like to bring them a gift, but am at a loss of what might be good to bring. They are older, close to 80. Is there anything you can think of that would be nice as a gift that comes specifically from this area they might enjoy? Lulu

JUST AN IDEA: MAYBE SOME HOMEMADE JAMS OR JELLYS, MAYBE NOT HOMEMADE BY YOU BUT FROM THE AREA. OLDER PARENTS USUALLY LOVE FOOD ITEMS.

You look terrific! As for gift giving...I really have no idea. Maybe some sugar free applebutter made locally (Eckerts carries it). They could be diabetic, and you don't want to kill them. Pamela 352/246/150

If you have an Amish community nearby (like up by Sturgeon), many times they have really nice hand woven placemats that make nice gifts. Of course, hand carved items are always nice if you have a local craftsperson. A hillbilly salt and pepper shaker might be nice. I saw one that was an old man and an old woman. One said Ah Choo and the other bless you! May not be made in Missouri, but they sure are hillbilly. Some nuts like pecans or walnuts from Missouri might be good. The book, Shepherd of the Hills might be another thing, since that is very Branson in nature. Of course, there are always all kinds of CDs and stuff from the Branson area if they like country or fiddle music. In Columbia and several Missouri communities is IB Nuts and Fruit, too. They have special mixes of nut and fruits and such that are made in Missouri.

If they drink alcohol, a nice Missouri wine would be a great gift! They are so many great ones to choose from around here. Just google missouri wineries and you will be able to find a ton of options. Thanks. - Beth
