Hi ya'all Well I got my pesky drain and staples out yesterday and am glad to report that I am one big loser. My surgery day weight was 307 my weigh in yesterday had me at 289. So since I can resume light activity and the board seems quiet I say lets all get up and do the happ happ happy for all of us losers with a capital L and the soon to be ones too. Oh and as far a the staple and drain removal, whew what a relief to have them gone. Dr Del La Torre is very kind with removing them so no worries~! More info as it comes.. Thanks, Gevin 307/298/150

Congrats to you Gevin, That is really awesome, I would be more then happy to do the happ happ happy dance with you.........I have alot more energy now that I have had the surgery. Just make sure you take your vitamins, I went to work on Tuesday and forgot to take mine before I left, boy did I feel it, it feels like you are completely drained. I ended up going to Dierbergs at lunch and getting some more Flintstones and Pepcid AC, once I got them in me I felt great. I have to agree, Dr De La Torre was very kind in removing my staples and drain also! Did you feel the pressure release when he took the drain out? I felt like my whole stomach just released this big sigh saying Thank God that thing is gone. Other then that, how are you feeling, are you going back to work next week or taking some more time off. I went back this week, kinda in a way I wish that I had stayed home another week to make sure that I felt ok but then I am glad that I went back so that I can get a schedule started. Have you tried using the Excel sheet that I sent to you, does that help you any, helps me ALOT, I can look at it and see if I need to start pushing more liquids or not. Just make sure that you try different types so you don't get bored. I am soooo anxious to get real food and I can't have any till next Thursday. Boy I wish today was next Thursday. Well congrats on being a LOSER, we made room for you on the Loser's bench so when you get done dancing and want to have a seat to drink your liquids and rest, then you can. Theresa

Hi Theresa, OMG the spread sheet has helped 1,000,000% I track everything on it. I set it up so I can track proteins in everything I take in an fluids too. It was great because i took copies of the 7 days with me to the Dr's office to show how well I thought I was doing, turns out really well. As for work... I don't go bac****il the 20th maybe... I am still sore where the drain was and my staple areas are tender. All to be expected... I do have to say I am looking forward to soft foods this week~! Dr Del la Torre said I could start a week early... We will see how that goes. Other than that I have built up a distaste for the ISOPURE and the Matrix powder, go figure.. ? I am drinking the Atkins and the Whey powder with milk and doing pretty good. We went shopping tonight and got some chicken noodle and rice, I will need to puree it up, but compared to jello and ISPOPURE all the time that will be a nice change. Speaking of changes how was your first weigh in? I was sooooooo scared to step on the scale. But when I did woo hoo. I compared my appt weight with my scale here and the scale here is dead on, pretty scary since I bought the thing at Wally World. LOL. Well I am gonna jet it's Pepcid time again~!LOL Drop me a message from work (that sux you had to go back~!) Gevin 307/279 (12 days post op~!) /150 ish
