St Louis Support groups
Hi Amy,
I don't think DePauls support group would mind you being at their meeting. I am planning on going this month and from what I have heard they are very informative for pre-op and post-ops. They also have the clothing swap from time to time and alot of folks bring recipes, samples, or items they tried and may not have cared for. So I say go.
Get some good info and maybe meet some new friends. Never hurts to try..

Hi Amy,
I have gone to a couple of the support groups at Depaul and have met others there that have been from the New Start program, we welcome them just as much as we welcome those that had thier surgeries elsewhere. I will be there next Wednesday night,(they meet the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays each month in the May Room at Depaul at 5:30 pm) and they always have really helpful information. They are a great support group and there are people there that are different lengths of pre- op and post-op. They talk about anything and everything that you can think of in regards to the weight loss surgery so if you have any questions don't hestitate to ask.
Come on along and meet some new people,
Theresa
I had my surgery at St. Alexius, Dr. Wagner, 4/11/05. I have been attending the support group meetings at DePaul for a year.
We would love to have you!
It is a great meeting. A lot of interaction between all of us. Our meetings are first and third wednesday, at 5:30, in the "May Center", next to the hospital entrance.
On the first wednesday, we have clothing exchange. We have speakers, sometimes samples of protein shakes, bars, ice cream, etc.
We all support each other at the meeting and out of the meeting. I think you would like it.
Hope to see you there!
