Info on Dr. Ali - Please

I understand that Dr. Ali had a practice in Missouri and he is now at Hamot Hospital in Erie, Pa. I would like to hear from any of you as to what you thought of him as your surgeon and if he left Missouri under good terms. I have an appointment with him on 7/21/05 and am looking forward to moving on with my journey. I just want to make sure I am picking a good surgeon. Thank you. Rita Ann

I have a friend that had her RNY done by Dr. Ali 2 and a half years ago and she spoke very, very highly of him. I know she was sad to see him go to another state. Good luck with your upcoming surgery, Kelli

Hi, I had my surgery done at Trumann Med Center where Dr. Ali practiced. EVERYONE there was very sad to see him go and he said himself it was a difficult decision. I think he wanted to be closer to family. When I began my journey to gastric bypass, I was floored by the fact that he attended the support group meetings even after long long days of surgery and answered every question from a room full of people. I had never before met a doctor like that. He did not perform my surgery but the doctor who did was under his direction and I am very pleased also. I'm a year out and 102 lbs lighter with no complications. Hope this helps. Debbie R.
