Hi all I am home
Hi to all and many thanks to all of your kinds wishes, thoughts, and prayers.
I am doing pretty well on the drinks and rest, still really sore and will be for a while.
I have to say that Dr Del La Torre did a great job and I was pleased with all of the other Drs I saw. I stayed one full day in step down ICU (due to sleep apnea) and the nurses there were great!! The next day, night was in a regular room, and well some of the nurses were pretty good, but not as good as the ICU nurses.
I cannot stress enough bringing a small portable fan, it saved me and I actually got some sleep~! I wouldnt bother with alot of other things to do since the pain drip will keep you out of it. The pain meds do work so use then when you need them and dont be shy like me and not ask, trust me on that one~!. I also found out something I didn't know and thats I am allergic to the bandaids they used on my small staple areas, not a big deal. Other than that De Paul is not bad, a wee noisy since they are very busy in ICU, but very quiet in the upper floors.
Nancy from Midwest stopped by and she was sooooooooo right, walking or just getting up and moving helps~~!!!!! I cannot stress that enough. It hurts but hit the pain button and get up and walk. The dietician also stopped by and made sure I had all of my scrips and other items for home. They were all great and I cannot think them enough~!
Well I am now 3 days post op and on my way.
Good luck to those waiting, it is worth it I promise..

Hi Gavin and welcome to the losing side.......its a blast here, but I will be honest and tell you that it is 1000 times better after next week when you get the drain out, when I went in Thursday to get my drain out I felt like the pressure just released. Glad that everything went good for in there, I was going to come by and visit but my dad took off work for a little bit to run me down to the dr's office and I knew that he would be in a hurry to get going back home, but anyways, glad everything went well and you are back home and starting your new adventure.
Good luck and if you need anything, just holler
Theresa
