Come on Sherri, you don't want to go back where you came from. You've done so well. I know you know what to do. It makes sense that you'd turn to your old style of stress relief. But what about something different to relieve stress. Do you have an exercise routine. Even something like an aerobics dance tape that you can do at home with your kids would be fun and might get everyone into a good mood (of course, they can't do it sick!) But you can do it to relieve stress. If not aerobics, how about an exercise bike or treadmill? I've even heard of people walking in their house, going up and down stairs a bunch of times or around a large living room or family room or even walking around the yard. You've got to find a replacement stress reliever.
How about taking anice long bath, putting on relaxing music, writing down your thoughts, reading a good book, reading THE good book, drinking water and water and more water.
Are you doing any protein drinks? I find the liquid protein in crystal light really makes me not be hungry. If I forget to have it first thing in the morning or I am running late and need to get kids to school and dont have time to fix it, I feel it all day until I have it. So, you might try going back to a protein drink of some kind. I buy the liquid protein at GNC. I love it.
Let us know what works. I know you'll find something. We're all rooting for you and remember, you're a role model to all those dinky dos in your home. So this is for them as well as for you.
Sherri,
I haven't had my surgery yet, but boy can I relate! I'm sure that a lot of this has to do with the stress you are under, plus being on your period.
The trick is to break the cycle of bad habits you are working on and get a fresh start. Clean out the cabinets and recommit yourself. Think back to how you ate right after your surgery and put yourself in that frame of mind. Food addiction is a horrible thing to deal with - I've tried for years.
My daughter had an RNY and still struggles once in a while so I know how hard it can be.
Sherry I know exactly what you mean. I have been eating and craving for the past couple weeks. I have gained 5 pounds. I did so well for 9 months not eating a bit of sugar and now I want it all the time. We have been having so many snack days, parties, etc at work and the food is always set up by my desk, it's so hard to stay away from it. And then I come home, and my daughter has baked cookies or something. Sugars don't bother me, unfortunately. I keep telling myself--NO MORE, but it doesn't seem to help.

Hey Girl,
You need to get back on program... it's so easy to let go and have a few things we really shouldn't, but do are restart on the basics, that will help you get past the got'a have stuff (not that it will be easy to do).
As for eating more than 9oz... I was told a month ago by a 4 1/2 post op that we use to have a trap door at the bottom of our tummy's which would hold the food in until it was suppose to come out (at the right time) well now we no longer have the door so if we over eat we push the food out of our new tummy's into the intestines before it should be which will cause gas... so just a thought on how you can eat more than 9 oz. at one time.
You look so awesome and you have done a great job, so don't be to hard on your self and just pick a day to get back on track!!!
Push'n the luck over to ya!!
