I had an apt. with my pcp today to talk about getting on cpap and he told me he'd be surprised if I had this surgery any sooner than 4 or 5 years, because he thinks the Dr. that does the surgery has a 4 or 5 year waiting list? I hate getting depressed, it takes me 4ever to get over it !!! does anyone know if Dr. Scott has a long waiting list for people with medicaid??? , SherryWhite

NEVER listen to anything anyone else says! You must ALWAYS talk to the source of the information. Only Dr. Scott will know what his waiting list is like. Give his office a call before you upset yourself further. Pamela -97

Hi Pamela, your right, I called Dr. Scott's office and they said I'd have no longer than 2 months! Thanks, Sherry

Dr Scott did my surgery, and my wait was just a matter of weeks. However, I have no idea if that would have changed if I'd had Medicaid. You really should call his office directly and find out for yourself. Do it soon! Medicaid benefits might be changing. Wishing you luck! Sheila

I would say that once you have your ducks all in a row and you have lost the weight he wants you to lose, then you could be scheduled by the end of June. It is all a matter of how quickly you can lose a little weight to be honest. And with the medicaid cuts, the sooner the better!

Sherry, relax and DON'T take everything your PCP takes as gospel. They would be right about MOST Docs, but NOT Dr. Scott. I sat down one morning with a long list, trying to find a surgeon who accepted the medicaid and would not put me on a long waiting list. Dr. Scott was the ONLY one who didn't do that. No special waiting list for Medicaid patients at all. So just hang in there!!! Connie
