Hi ya'll, Just thought ...
Hi ya'll,
Just thought I'd update a bit. I had my gallbladder removed on Tuesday and they also found a hernia so Dr R sewed that up.
I have been in so much pain, I think this one has been worse than the actual gastric bypass. I didn't need painkillers after day 3 with that, but now I am still needing the vicoden. Standing hurts, sitting, laying, everything.
I hope this gets better soon....

Chrissy,
I agree, it took me a long time to recovery from my gallbladder surgery - but mine was open. Was yours open too? The lowest weight I've ever been, as an adult, was after my gallbladder surgery when I couldn't eat! My umbilical hernia repair wasn't as bad - but then it wasn't at the same time as my gallbladder surgery! So you REST and take care of yourself!!

This is to all of you that have had the surgery,
Do you guys recommend having your gall bladder removed when they do the gastric bypass? I am scheduled to have my surgery around the beginning of June with Dr. De La Torre, and someone mentioned to me that I should just go ahead and have it removed when they do the gb surgery, since you guys have gone through all of this, do you recommend having it removed then or do you know if the dr's will even do this? I am just trying to see what options that I may have. Someone told me that since I have been on so many diets and for so long in my life that it might be beneficial to me. What is your opinion on this, anything you can provide will help.
Thanks
Theresa
