update...back from hospital

I went in this morning and had an EGD done. They said if they found anything they would fix it while they were in there. It really was not bad at all. Again Shawnee Mission Medical Center is an awesome place! The Dr. went in and sure enough it was a stricture. He took before and after pictures and had a whole report made out when I woke up. The stoma was no bigger than a pin hole. After he ballooned it it had to be 10 to 20 times the size. No wonder I was having pain and nothing was really going through. It was, but VERY slowly. I am home now and feel much better. I atually ate dinner and then again a little later as I was feeling very nausous from lack of food. The best part of all is that I drank water tonight aahhhhhh heaven! Funny thing that happened at the hospital..... because of not being able to drink much lately, I have really felt dry. When they came in to put an IV in me I asked if I was going to get saline solution (sal****er) lol. The nurse said yes it is right here. My response was "OH GOOD, hook me up!" When I woke up and they asked if I was ready to leave I asked them if the bag of fluids was done, they said not yet ha ha so I asked if I could stay a little longer. They kind of looked at me strange, but hey I was getting hydrated and I didn't want to have to come back again because I was dehydrated lol. All is well and I am happily home. Take care, Tara
