Well i was told @ 6 months out i could consume alcohol . I have had a few margarittas since then . and did fine . I will tell you now i can have a 1/2 of one and be dizzy flushed and drunk feeling but i believe they have alot of sugar in them but that is the only drink i like and i had 3 or 4 a year before surgery and i still enjoy them . i am not sure if you can have beer cause of carbination . i have also had a couple sips of asti .. and several people drink wine .. hope it helps also bariatric eating does have sugar free mixes for like margarittas and mixed drinks .. and they are good .
I've had alcoholic drinks twice...a margarita and a long island iced tea. After just a few sips (not even an ounce of liquid!), I was TOTALLY wasted. Obliterated. It hit me extremely fast and hard. Thankfully, it also wore off quickly, within an hour of my last sip. I think if you stick to drinks with less alcohol, you won't have much problem. Beer and winecoolers don't bother me, but then I've also not really had more than a sip or two of my husband's.
