Anyone in Kansas City?

Just wondering if anyone from the Kansas City area is reading this board.  I would really like to find a support group.  I'm 5 1/2 years out. 

I check on the Missouri and Kansas boards every so often.  There are several DSers in the Kansas City area that get together for lunch every month.  It's a wonderful group and we'd love more folks to join us -- any WLS type welcome.  PM me if you're interested!

As far as an actual support group, I understand St. Luke's has one... the last I heard it meets on the second Wednesday of every month at 6 PM at the Plaza Embassy Suites on 43rd Street.

I believe the meetings have been moved to Thursdays at the Peet Center at St. Luke's at 6:00 p.m.

Thanks for the info.  I had my surgery at St. Luke's.  The last time I attended there the meeting was geared toward pre-ops. 

 

I'm going in April because I'm in need of some serious support. I went last year but they were talking about plastic surgery. I hope this session will be better. 

I just read KUMED's meetings are the first Tuesday of the month at KU MED WEST.

Are they open to anyone?

Can anyone tell me what to expect at my first appointment at St lukes. it is on June 6. I am just nervous.  thanks in advance!

If you don't mind me asking, what dr. did you see at St Luke's?  I had an appointment that same day. and just curious of your experience.  

Just wonder how your first appt went. I just had RNY surgery Aug 16, 2016. Hope it went great.
