Meaghan,
I first want to say I'm so sorry for your loss and so very grateful for the man you married who gave his life for me. That's the most wonderful gift anyone can give another person and although it is horrible for you, you must realize that there are hundreds of thousands of people who admire military people and their spouses for what they do for us every day.

That said, you have chosen the best kindest most experienced surgeon in Missouri in my opinion. Dr. H is a good man in addition to being a good doctor. He has so much experience. You need to Google Bariatric surgery and hernia. I have a good friend from this board who has been in the hospital for two months because of an internal hernia.

Dr. H knows about her and he will tell you that this is not something you should be stalling on. Take care of yourself and the rest will follow.

Hugs and best love and gratitude.

Dr Hornbostel was my surgeon. I do  not know of him doing DS but Im like everyone else you might call him if he doesnt im sure he can refer you to someone. Dr. Hornbostel is an excellent surgeon. Ive had RNY and gall bladder surgery from him.

My problem I have now is that I cant eat much at all. I DO NOT LIKE TO EAT PERIOD. I eat enough to know to stay healthy but I rather not eat at all. Food tastes good dont get me wrong but I just dont like that heavey feeling after eating. I rather just drink . I do the protein shakes once again. But to eat. I have a hard time conviencing myself each day to sit down and eat a meal. Sometimes i forget to eat that is how bad it is. My godbrother had this surgery a year later than mine. My sister had hers done two months after I did. They can eat and eat and eat what they want. They have dumping sydrome. several times. I know what they eat and if it made them sick I diffently dont eat it. I just never get hungry anymore. but, I feel heathy and act healthy. I think this surgery affect everyone diferently. I really dont understand how some people are gaining their weight back if they had the same surgery I did.
