It's been a long time

I haven't been on here for a long time. I had surgery in August of 08 and have gone from 330 to 175. I'd like to lose about 10 more pounds, but I don't know if that will happen or not. I've been stuck at 175 for a long time. I'm ok with where I am, but still it would be nice to see 165.

I've come back to try and gain some accountability for myself. Until this past week I had stopped taking my vitamins for a long time. I just this week started taking them regularly again and boy can I feel a difference. I'm not exhausted any more and am sleeping better at night. I know that was a really bad decision. The reason I stopped taking them was that I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and have had to start taking a lot of prescription meds and it took me a while to get into the groove of taking them so the vitamins took a back burner. Bad decision I know.

I also need to focus on protein again. I've not been keeping track of how much I get and haven't been eating it first at meals. Now that I'm regularly taking vitamins again, my next goal is to get that 60 to 80 grams of protein. Then I will move on to getting more exercise because right now I'm getting none. The reason for that is that I just got divorced and am taking care of my 3 young children and am having trouble finding the time to exercise while working full time and being a single mom. I know I will find the time though. Even if it's just 15 minutes.

Anyway, I just wanted to pop in and tell everyone hi. I remember some of you and see that there are quite a few new faces. I need to update my profile really badly, but will have to wait until I have time to do so.
Thanks for reading.

Thanks for the warm welcome back, Jan.
I'm trying to remember the name of a protein mix that I used to use, but can't. I remember one of the flavors was lemonade. Any ideas?

I will invite you to a support group, its a good way to stay accountable. We have one in Waynesville and there is one in Springfield. It is about the same distance both ways from Clinton I think. Waynesville is the third Sat @9 in the Waynesville library and Springfield is always posted on here. I can't seem to remember it right now but its on Friday nights. I know when I don't go I start to slip so it really helps me.

Brandy,
I remember you and you look amazing. I am sorry you have had to go through a rough patch but sounds like you are getting back in the right frame of mind. Try to take care of yourself - your kiddies need you more now than ever.

Was the protein Nectar? Seems like they have a lemonade one. I like those because you can mix most of them with water instead of milk. I'm not a milk person.

Keep in touch. Our next support group meeting is on Friday, April 8, at the Library Center on South Campbell in Springfield at 6:30. I know Clinton is quite a drive - I go up there on my way to St. Joseph to see my DD and DGS - but we would love to have you.
It is a good road now all the way.

Hugs,
Lana

Yes, Lana! It was Nectar! Thank you! I didn't like the lemonade one, but remembered trying it. I will have to try that again to get me started on getting all my protein. Thanks for the invite to the support meeting. I will have to see if I can fit it into my schedule.
