Having some tummy problems

Since last Monday I've had problems after eating a meal.  I'm chewing, taking small bites, don't drink with meals or for 30 minutes afterwards and haven't made any changes in what I eat.  One meal was meatballs with spaghetti sauce and about 1/4 cup of pasta. I thought it was the pasta. Next night was a Polish sausage and a couple bites of kraut.   I rarely eat hot dogs or sausage but this had to be a quick meal for my family.  Both nights my food came back up.  I felt some better after that, but my tummy still didn't feel quite right.

Today we went to the dinner theatre.  I was very selective.  I had 3 baby carrots, about 1/4 cup mashed potatoes, very small portions of ham and chicken.  I had to leave my seat twice to throw up.  It's 8:20 p.m. and I'm still a little uncomfortable.

I've been so fortunate and never had any problems since my surgery 2 1/2 years ago.  If it keeps up, I will see my surgeon.

Have any of you had a similar problem?

Sorry to hear you are having such problems Jo.  I think if I was you I would call my surgeon's office.  You might have a stricture or something serious like that.  I don't mean to scare you but better safe than sorry.  Hope you get to feeling better.

I think the problem is solved.  I may have been eating too fast.  Yesterday, I felt fine.  I had liquids all day then a meal in the evening.  At home I eat on a small plate but at the dinner theatre I had a regular plate.  I always take too much food for me.  I know I ate a little too much and too fast.

I posted on another bariatric message board and they suggested eating like I did right after surgery.

Pasta, rice and hot dog type meat just doesn't digest well for me so I need to avoid them.

I'm feeling fine now.  I know I've been eating too fast so I'm working on slowing down.  There are some foods I need to avoid like pasta even though it's whole wheat.  Rice really makes me miserable.  Neither food was ever a big favorite.  I can eat raviola though with no problems.

My palette is much more picky than it was in my old life.

Yes, we are moving this week.  The movers will be at my house at 9:00 tomorrow.  So much to do!!  We have to buy an electric clothes dryer so first thing tomorrow morning I'm washing the bedding so I can dry it at the house.

I thought we would have heard from Jan by now.  Hope everything is going well for them.  I'm on FB although don't check it daily but I've not seen anything from her.

Last I heard she didn't have wi-fi where she was staying so had to go to town to an Internet cafe to post so that may be the problem.
