If you need directions please feel free to email me at [email protected]. I dont check this site as often as I would like but get updates to my aol account regularly. :)

We also have our second meeting of the month scheduled for 19 Feb @ 9 am at the Pulaski County Public Library in Waynesville, MO again it is open to everyone.

Bring a friend bring your spouse, any one who supports you.

All surgery types and those who are thinking about surgery or in the process or are seasoned veterans are all welcome. Our group seems to be growing every month and we have quite the variety of stages and surgeries in our group.

We look forward to meeting you, have a Wonderful day!!

Mary,
I attend Circle of Friends in Springfield but I wanted to add to your post to tell people in your area that I believe group support after surgery is one of the most significant ways to insure continuing success. It is a place to share good and bad stuff, ask questions, cheer on newbies and people waiting for surgery or approval, and learn the problems and pitfalls from veterans. For me it is sort of AA for people with weight issues. We can celebrate our victories and mourn our singular or group problems. No one, except another WLS patient, can quite understand what we go through. That makes us an exclusive group with great experience to share.
Do yourself a favor and attend as many group meetings as you can. I know for me it's a lifesaver.
Hugs and loveys,
Lana

"WLS is about making better choices, a healthier lifestyle and seeing how little you can eat.  Portion control is the key to all weight loss surgeries.  Bottom line - it isn't how much you can eat - it is how little you can eat."

Thanks Lana,

You are so right, it has made the world of difference for me I know and having more options is nice. I know sometimes I dont have much to say during group, but there is never a quiet moment either. Sometimes I just like to sit and listen and take in what other people are doing or have done and see what areas I can try or improve in. It helps keep me on track so much more than when I try going it alone.

With each of us being so different having more people with different views and ideas is a wonderful thing. Especially when you are having issues or just need fresh new ideas.

Having WLS is like so many other things in life. Until you are going through whatever part of the journey itself, you dont quite understand and it is so nice hearing from others at the different stages.

Thanks for your input.
