Are there folks from STL chatting the forum?

Does anyone regularly attend meeting?

Welcome to the Mo Forum ...yes there are a lot of us on here that attend meetings each month...it is one of the best ways to keep yourself on the straight and narrow....it really helps you with questions...
Hope you do great. not sure where there are some meetings in the Stl area your doctor should be able to tell you of several of them.
Good luck with your surgery....hope to hear from you more...

Welcome to the board.  Best wishes to you on your journey.  I'm 2 1/2 years out from RNY and have no regrets.

I'm in the Kansas City area.  Wish there were meeting here, but there aren't.  My surgeon has a monthly meeting, but it aimed at those just starting the journey.  Wish I could attend the meeting in Springfield that Jan attends.  It sounds like a great group, but it's a 3 hour drive for me.  I'm hoping to go down there one of these days.

Be sure to take your vitamins and get in your required protein.  I supplement my diet daily with protein supplements.  I can't eat enough protein to get in the minimum of 80 grams a day.  My dietician recommends 80-110 grams of protein daily.  You will probably see big changes in your food likes and dislikes.  The smell of fried foods is sickening to me.  I don't like anything battered or fried and I don't like eggs or turkey.  Sugar makes me sick which is a good thing.

Good luck and come here often to chat.

I am from St Louis area! I had my RNY with Dr De La Torre Dec 09 when he was still doing surgeries in STL. I stopped going to support group here although I may start going again soon and give it another whirl! I go to the SSM De Paul one. All are welcome even if you had surgery elsewhere!
Would love to meet up with some other WLS peeps here in STL.
Hope you are doing well!

Welcome to the MO board and to the Loser's Bench!  It is a wonderful journey and I wish you the best of luck with it.  We are here to help you in any way that we can.  I myself am almost 5 years out now.  I live in Maryland Heights and had my RNY with Dr. Richardson at St. Alexius.  Until just recently I regularly attended the support group meeting at St. Alexius.  It is a wonderful group and I miss it terribly but unfortunately I am without transportion right now an am having to rely on public transportation.  I could get there but would have to be at the Rock Road Metro Station late at night by myself and I just don't feel safe doing that.  Like I said, welcome to the boards and feel free to bounce your questions off of us.
