Struggling!

I seem like I am really struggling with my diet right now. I am on the soft stage but i feel so hungry all the time. I am sure I am eating too fast then feel uncomfortable afterward but then get really hungry again.
I am also going through a lot that is causing stress and that adds to my food issues. My grandaughter went into heart failure just before thanksgiving. She was in the hospital in Springfield and they released her in heart failure with out her being stable and she ended up in St Louis this week at Barnes Children's hospital. She is going through testing now for a heart transplant. she is only 12 but has had heart disease since birth.  She is my oldest grandaughter and lives with me along with her 3 siblings and my daughter & son-in-law. My daughter has been a stay at home mom for a while now with the 4 kids and my son in law was in a pretty bad car accident recently and has not been able to return to work.
With the health concerns and the financial stress I am having a tough time. I get worn out so fast still and it is hard for me to stand for very long to even fix meals for myself. Mobility has been an issue for me even before surgery so I expect it to take a little longer to get energy built back up. I am so anxious to get back to work but it seems like I am not progressing very fast. I am going stir crazy!
I covet prayers and advise!

Lady bug ....honey what you are feeling is head hunger not stomach hunger, it is remembered  sort of like ghost pain from an arm or leg being taken off and they feel pain in that ......well the hunger you are feeling is much the same....believe me when i say that if you went in and tried to eat what ever it is you are thinking you want.....well lets just say that they better clear a path way to the bathroom for you .lol .....

So so sorry to hear about your sweet young GD....that is so sad when babies have to be sick isnt it.? Will be praying for Her , can you tell me her name so i can pray more personally.....and also for your Son in law.....How come they all live with you? not trying to be nosey , i guess just a sign of the times ...
Your energy level will come back little by little , are you walking? even if it is just 2 or 3 minutes.   I started out by walking back and forth in the house for a few minutes then i went outside after i had gained some ability to not fall all the time and walked around and around the house....when i felt comfortable doing that i walked around the block ,,,,,you didnt lose your mobility overnight and those muscles are just useless. you will have to build them back up....make a bargain with your self...for every pound you lose you walk that many more minutes. .....will be surprised....your energy levels will soon be through the roof....

Praying for you and your family   love and hugs.

Head hunger can be worse than real hunger. I didn't start getting real hunger for over six months. Its easy to over do it early out because you haven't regained all the feeling. Instead of eating  try drinking protein drinks and sip all day. Then eat three times a day. Follow your rules and it will get easier.
My prayers go out to your grandaughter and all your family for comfort and healing.

I am so sorry I ddin't take the time to respond to your posts. The advise really has helped. Whebn I make a pot of chili for the family it is hard to stick to my soft food diet. I started with scrambled eggs but soon found they really don't like me right now. That is the only thing that sends me scurrying to the bathroom so far.
My granddaughter's name is Briuanna. she will be going up to St Louis once a week to meet with the transplant team as long as her heart continues to try to function on its own. She is on some pretty strong medicine and high doses so it really limits her even more than before. Once her heart stops functioning on it's own she will be kept going mechanically until she gets a donor.
My kids moved in with me a few years back when the economy started going south - he is a painter and work started becoming scarce. I took a bad fall and tore my knee up pretty badly and the dr started pressuring me to get bariatric surgery so he could replace my knees so it just made sense for me to not be alone while preparing for and going through surgeries.
my mobility has been very limited. One day last winter I fell on the handicap ramp on my way out to work and couldn't get up. I had to lay out there in the dark and cold until I could drag myself up the ramp to my purse and get to my cell phone to call my daughter and wake her up inside the house to come help me up. it is embarassing to be in this kind of shape at 48 but I am looking forward to constant improvement as the weight comes off!
