WHATS HAPPENING WEDNESDAY
Speaking of which, WHAT ARE YOU THE MOST THANKFUL FOR THIS THANKSGIVING>
mine would be that im a Christian and that I have the feedom to be that even tho it might come to pass sooner than we think that we wont have that freedom....after that is my family and reasonable good health. to be able to enjoy it all.
Lana I dont think you opened a can of worms...i think the most of us that have had surgery agree. it is like is said they operate on our stomachs not our heads but if you arent willing to GIVE UP the way you eat before surgery then it is a waste of time.....I hear about these people that have the surgery and lose lots of weight and then start parting , drinking and eating like they are normal , well we arent normal , we have to totally change the way we eat or we will be just back to the same thing again.
well got to go get ready for work...talk to you all to morrow. have a wonderful Thanksgiving and remember to eat PROTEIN FIRST ......

Good Afternoon Before Turkey Day~ It's about to get crazy around here so want to wish all of my OH Friends a very Happy Thanksgiving.
I am most thankful that we have an all POWERFUL GOD, and that he is Loving and always forgiving, and most importan that he sent HIS ONLY SON to earth as a Ransom for our sin. The second things I am thankful for are my Children, my Friends and my health.
I don't know if I posted but I start school next Monday and am so excited I have trouble concentrating on the things at hand. I keep daydreaming what it's going to be like out there.
Love you all, and wish you a very HAPPY AND FULFILLING THANKS-GIVING.

I've not felt well this past week. It seems to come and go. Thankfully, Jake went grocery shopping with me Monday. We bought about $350 worth of groceries, had two carts full. I was so thankful that Jake was with me. I just can't push those heavy carts anymore. Then Tuesday I went out and found a nice pair of jeans at dress-barn and a few other items I needed. We are having Family Pictures taken at JC Penny's this Friday. All FOUR kids will be here. We haven't had an entire family picture taken in over 10 years. Erin, my step daughter, wanted her and I to wear black...she's gained some weight and black will make us both look slimmer! We decided that we'd all wear dark rinse blue jeans and the guys will wear a Royal Burgundy Long Sleeve Polo. I got a great deal on the polo's from JC Penny's and bought their St. John Bay jeans there too. Erin and I went shopping last week. I bought her a pair of "Skinny Jeans". They were a present for her Birthday. She wanted me to buy a pair too. I tried them on and I really did not like them. I still have chunky thighs, so they don't work on me. I found a really cute black sweater with a fur collar and a skinny belt at dress barn. I also bought the jeans at dress barn, they are dark rinse blue jeans with flowers and rhinestones. The rhinestones are black along the sides of the jeans. It's a really nice outfit. I like the sweater because I can dress it up or down.
My hair dresser is out of town so I have an apt with a lady here in town that did my hair years ago. I figure it'd be easier to have my hair done Friday then come home and put my make up on. Having the hair done for me is over half the battle! All the boys have had haircuts. Except my stepson, Josh. He is actually growing his hair out long. He's grows it so many inches and then donates it to Locks of Love. He's done in a few times. He usually keeps it all covered up under a baseball hat. I'm wondering what he's planning on for the pictures. I guess time will tell. I think it's great that he does it, just wish he'd cut it before the pics. I really wish my hair would be thick and would grow long enough to donate it. Locks of Love uses donated hair to make wigs for children who have cancer. His grandma, my husband's mother, died from cancer so I think that is why he does it...in honor of her. It is really is a neat thing he does for children he'll probably never meet.
As always, we're having Thanksgiving Dinner at our house. To be honest, I'll be glad when my future daughter-in-laws will be cooking the dinner. However, that will be years from now. I've been doing it for 20 years and I'm tired. Thankfully, DH has always helped me. My boys usually do the dishes. It's only been the last year or so that my 27 year old step daughter has actually helped with the clean up. I think her Dad said something to hear a year or so ago. It's a lot of work cooking for 9 to 11 people every year. This will be our second year deep frying the turkey. We bought Master-Built indoor deep fryer last year. This year we're frying 3 turkeys. Two that we injected with different marinades...one is store bought...Roasted Garlic and Herb, one is home made called Butter & Beer and the the third one is a spicy rub from the food network website. Our fryer will only hold a 14 lb turkey. The turkey's at Price Chopper were either 20+ lbs or 11 lbs. My DH didn't think two turkeys would enough, so that is why we frying three turkeys. He will still frying around 9am. Tonight I made the candied yams, coleslaw, turkey gravy and made the turkey stock that I will use in the dressing for tomorrow. Tomorrow the boys will help me peel 10 lbs of potatoes for the mashed potatoes. I'll slow cook about 8 cans of french cut green beans and warm the rest of the dishes up. I don't bake pies, but I did buy 3 - Blackberry, Pumpkin and French Silk. We eat between 12:00 and 12:30. Then we clean up and take a nap or watch TV. Later we play board games with the kids. The older kids will have to leave early to go to their Mom's house.
Friday after the pictures, I'm hoping we can all go bowling. I was able to purchase $60 of bowling and food for $30 at a local bowling alley on Munchron.com. It was too good of a deal to pass up. I thought it'd be a fun family activity. We used to go bowling a lot when the kids where younger, haven't done it in a long time. My step children's great grandma just passed away today so they might not want to go bowling on Friday. We'll discuss it tomorrow.
Mama Jan - sorry you're working on Thanksgiving! But that double pay will be GREAT! Are you all still planning on going to Arizona for the winter? David and I were hoping to spend a few days in Texas this winter but it doesn't look like it's going to happen. His job will be ending in a month or so. Please keep us in your prayers. We have to keep trusting the Lord to provide. It' hard but I am believe that God Is Good All The Time, All The Time God Is Good!
Jeanie - Congrats on starting school! I've enjoyed "watching" your transformation on the board. I know the Lord has great things planned for you! Please be sure to call me the next time you come thru KC, would love to meet you in person!
MO Peeps - Hope each and everyone of you have a Happy Thanksgiving! Remember to Count Your Blessings and Give Thanks to our Wonderful God!
Love all of you!
