Update and question

Just wanted to give a quick update of the pregnancy so far and I would like to gather opinions on B12.

I am 19 weeks pregnant now and everything seems to be going okay. I have an ultrasound on November 23rd and we will find out if everything is normal and whether it's a boy or a girl. My girls can't wait! I still don't look pregnant, but have gained 10 pounds, very depressing - at least it's going back into skin that is already there and not stretching to a new place, lol!

We did labs last week and my B12 was really low (normal being 211-900, mine was 149). I am having real issues taking the vitamins, all the extra calcium and iron that is required of pregnant gastric bypass patients, AND the B12 drops. Does anyone have an opinion on whether the B12 shots or B12 drops are better? I just need to remember to take the drops, but it seems to be a big problem with me.

may be that because you are pregnate that for some reason the sub lingual isnt getting into the blood stream....may have to do shots while pregnate...i give them to myself twice a month. once doest even do it for me even shots. .....on the taking the b 12 by mouth there are little tiny under the tongue tablets that dont have a taste. you might try ...

Thanks Jan, I never thought of it that way, I will mention it to my OB; I may need the shots too. Wow twice a month? I wonder if some just have the propensity to be resistant to B12? Thanks again!
