WHATS HAPPENING THURSDAY???

Some one ask the other day what has happened to the board? and then they havent been back to post again . Look at yesterday how many people posted   myself and Jo and that was it. So now that is the answer i guess of what is happening to the Mo board.  No one has the time to get on and say anything. doesnt matter if it is a long post or not or whether it is real exciting or not . more or less it is just to say Hello everyone Im here . Oh well i guess it isnt going to do a lot of good ...Everyone knows .

Yesterday we didnt get much of anything done on my list because we were out running the streets lol
We live so far out in the boonies that if we go to Forsyth or into Branson it has pretty much ruined the rest of the day. taking 30 to 45 minutes to get ready , 40 minutes to get to Forsyth and another 15 to get to Branson then to do all the things you need to do , that is why we put all of it in one day that way we only have to waste one day doing all of the outside junk. lol \

well now they are saying we may not get any rain at all ....im really bummed everything is drying up really badly. all my bushes and trees are so stressed looking. the leaves on them were curling up and drying out before the heavy frost and i sure hope they have enough moisture to make it thru the winter....i have been trying to give everything a heavy watering but just hope it hasnt been too little too late.
\
Today is being devoted to cleaning out all the dead flowers in the flower beds....and then we are spreading a good layer of mulch on the top of all of it.....We have some really good mulch that we have been making all summer. and some of the beds are needing some extra nurturion by now. after a few years of growing things i like to add about 2 inches of good decayed matter (mulch) to the top in the fall of the year and during the winter then it soaks down into the ground  and next year i have a good fertile ground again.

got to get im wasting daylight and it doesnt seem like we have much of it anymore does it?  dont know what they do with it but never seems like we have any lol ...but i do notice that after they change the time back is when i start getting down and even depressed before winter is over. Dont see why they dont leave it alone....no reason for it at all.....when they started changing the time back and forth in the 70s i hated it and still do.  oh well off the soap box...get the protein coffee down and get motivated to get outside....see you all tomorrow.....i have to worlk tomorrow....hope we have no more that have passed away....the other day when i went back to work after a few days off we had had 2 pass away ....one i expected and the other was a complete surprise. the one i expected wasnt but 54 she has MS and was in the last stages ...that is a bad bad disease.

got to go just keep rambling. besides my fingers have gone numb on me again.......

Hello Jan and Missouri!!!
A quick note to all of you. Students are slow to wake up this AM so I have a second.
This Sunday is John's birthday so I've got to do something special for him. I have a couple of gifts and am waiting for one more to come in the mail. I think I'll do a pie instead of a birthday cake but haven't decided for sure.

I have ordered a pound of pastrami from the Temple in Rogersville that I pick up on Sunday. They have it flown in from New York for this special bazaar. They also have traditional Jewish homemade stuff and rye bread brought over from St. Louis. It will be fun. We ate at a traditional deli in New York and had an egg cream which doesn't have any egg in it but I'm not sure just what it's made with. I'd always heard of egg cream so I ordered one. It was good. But sure not diet.

Hope you all have a great day. Hugs and loveys

Wish i would have had sense enough to ask for some of her great reciepes....doubt if she had any written down ...she was like my mom oh take a pinch and a dab and a smigeon.....lol hard for us to know what a smidgeon is lol
Never heard of Egg cream tho....doesnt sound like it would be good for the diet tho lol but once in a while we all have to try something ....

Good Morning, Mama Jan & MO Peeps!

Brrr, it is cold outside!  I let the girls' out and it didn't take them but a few minutes to take care of business!  They were ready to come back into the nice warm house.

So far this week I've subbed 1 1/2 days.  Monday was for a 7th grade Social Studies Class (which I LOVED) and yesterday was 1/2 day in the afternoon for a Reading Specialty Class.  Enjoyed it too.
Today I'm going to try and get my kitchen and living room areas picked up.  Would love to start on our bedroom and closet, just not sure that's going to get started today.  I also need to put together our menu for the next couple of weeks.  Going to plan Thanksgiving Dinner as well. A couple of years ago we got a great deal on a Master Built Electric Turkey Fryer.  Now David fries to 15 lb turkeys and I just do the side dishes which I keep simple!  Going to have my dear step-daughter bring a couple desserts.  Hope it will be an easy day.

Monday is my Birthday.  DH told me last night that he'd like to take me to Jamesport for my birthday this weekend!  I'm going to call some B&B's that we haven't been to before and see what kind of deals they can give me.  Probably will only be for one night because David is still working 10 hour shifts and won't be home until after 6pm tomorrow night.  I'm thinking we get up early and drive to Jamesport (about a 2 1/2 hour drive), do some shopping...mainly window shopping and then go to the B&B and relax the rest of the evening.  We haven't been in 2 years and we both really need the time to get away and just be alone together.  Going to have my step-daughter keep an eye on Jake.  It's not that I don't trust him, it's just that he is a 15 year boy!  :)  Also, our church Family's Thanksgiving dinner is Sunday night...will see if we make it back in time for that.

David's step-mom surprised me and sent 2 Precious Moments figures to my house for my birthday!  One a little girl with a birthday cake that says "Count Each Birthday As A Joyful One" and the other one an angel standing on a cloud blowing a trumpet that has sparkling stars coming out of it and it plays "Hark The Herald Angels Sang".  Needless to say, it brought tears to my eyes!  My curio cabinet, which she gave me, is almost FULL of precious moments and a few other figurines.  :)

Mama Jan - I'm with you on the time change.  I just wish they would keep it one way or another.  Honestly, it takes my body about 2 weeks to adapt to the time change in the Spring and the Fall!  You still wear be out with all that yard work!  The only type of planting I do is a few flowers in containers for my front stoop around Mother's Day.  There are actually a few still blooming!

Sorry to hear about that 54 year old dying from MS.  There's a woman who I'd say is in her middle 30's at our church who was diag. with MS about 7 years ago.  For the past 2 years she's been on an experimental drug.  She says it's been wonderful and she's only suffered 1 attack during those 2 years. This past month the FDA actually APPROVED it!  She praised the Lord for that during church one Sunday and said that she truly believed it would a miracle to a lot of people who suffer with MS!

Lovely Lana - I'll bet those new college kids do keep you busy! I'll bet you'll never know just how much they appreciate all you do for them!  Hope your DH has a wonderful Birthday!

Jo - We really need to try and get some from the KC area together again before Christmas and meet for lunch!

MO Peeps - Hope all of you have a wonderful Thursday and a GREAT weekend!
