Had my scope yesterday.  I do have a hiatal hernia.  Dr. Scott said he would repair/fix at surgery (vertical sleeve).  Paperwork sent to insurance on 18th.  Now just waiting.  Question:  Will have a hiatal hernia make the surgery/recooperation any more difficult than without one?  Thanks to all

I would think there would be some additional recovery. I had an umbilical hernia repaired with my rny and it wasn't too bad.

I did not have any additional problems with the HH surgery accompining my WLS.  The procedure was a bit longer(about 15 minutes I am told), but recovery was the same.  Dr. Scott has done many.  They talked about this during the last Support group meeting, said they are finding more and more of them in patient pre op.  Good Luck
