Are you all ready for this? My dream was to be able to drive truck over the road again. Called a company I drove for in '98 and after talking to a recruiter for a few minutes and giving him my history was told they would re-hire me if I would go back to school, and could pass a DOT physical. Sleep Apnea is not an issue and since my diabetes is not an issue anymore I should be able to pass.

I contacted the VO-REHAB for Missouri and they will pay for schooling and my license and the physical, so I'm super excited and ready for this change. Will probably start school in a few weeks and maybe in a couple of months will be out on the road.

Wow Jeanie isnt this surgery amazing? I am so so happy for you , i know this was your dream.....you will just have to be very diligent about your food and pack your own for your drives instead of eating in the diners .....save money too. I know you are really happy about all of this and it is a blessing from Heaven about your finances too. Praise God from whom all blessings flow.

Yes it is amazing, the lady I talked to at Vo-Rehab had RNY in 05 or something and she says the same thing. I stayed away from the diners and stuff before, now I will be able to cook smaller amounts so will be able to save money, will also keep my protein powders with me and some high protein snacks.

I also believe it's a blessing from Heaven, I prayed about it and was prepared for the worst and God let me see that it is a good thing.

Good for you, Jeanie. I'm so happy for you. I know you really wanted this and it's coming at the exact perfect time. God is so good - He knows what we need and when we need it. I agree with Jan that you'll have to be careful and bring your own food but there are lots of things you can put in a cooler or cold-pack and you'll be fine.
How's the smoking? Know that I'm praying for you and for strength.

I double what I wrote in reply to Jan. I am working on the last two cigarettes. will not buy anymore. Need to best in the best form I can be when I go for the physical. I am praying for the strength also, and know that God will give it to me.
