Cancelled revision surgery
I have decided not to have the revision done at this time. After talking to Margie yesterday,I discovered that the surgery is much more serious than the first one. Higher risk of leakage and alot of unhooking and rehooking. I also was told that the expected weight loss after it is only about 30 lbs. I just decided that the risk is just to high for that amount of weight loss. So I am gonna really try to just lose it on my own. Take care and wish me luck, Tammy
Thanks for the update, I was planning on being there for you again. I am sorry it hasn't worked out for you. Are you on any meds? Just asking because I was gaining weight and having trouble eating constantly until I tried to go off my Lexapro but, had trouble so was placed on Celexa. Now I don't want to eat like I was and no more craving of carbs. I have been amazed. Just an idea.....

so sorry about getting your hopes up for that surgery but i know you werent looking forward to it at all. lllyou could just keep on with the liquid diet for the next two weeks , and use only high protein drinks for most of the liquids ...you will be surprised how much you will lose just with that. and it will help reset your pouch ....you already had a few days going on the liquid going so you should just keep on going on it. we are all here for you and for any help if you need it...we can laugh, cry, jump , clap and cyber hug anytime you need us ok ??lol/
You might want to check into a procedure called the Rose procedure , they do it i think at columbia, they go down your throat and make the stoma at the end of your pouch smaller by putting stitching around the top of it and sort of gathering it up ....makes it a lot smaller so the food you eat stays in the pouch a lot longer so you cant eat any more...and that way there is no unhooking or re hooking things up ...and no other incisions on the stomach either. if Dr. H was willing to do a revision im sure you would qualify for the Rose ...since Dr. H is very conservative about revisions, which is good i think.
any way you might call him and see if he thinks that might be something he thinks would work for you.

Thanx Jan for always being there for us. I was wondering if there was any other way of fixing this. That sounds alot better.I think I will check into it.I am staying on the liquids for awhile. Hopefully it will get me back in line with having the protien shakes again. I have not being doing good with that at all! And also with the water.I will keep u all informed.Love ya,Tammy
