Oh my goodness did we ever have a rought night last night. Had a patient come back from hospital where she was sent to help get lined out on medication so we could handle her. she is a psycho...well her daughter refused to sign the papers that stated that they would be finacially responsible for anything that medicare didnt pay. so after 4  .days without any meds at all she came back to us , flying high.....screaming and yelling. grabing us and twisting our arms and scratching. refusing any and all meds. finally got an order to give her a shot finally peace....if i have to go thur any more night like that with her i will give my notice. i just dont handle those kinds of patients well. that is why i couldnt work in a phych ward. i knew it as soon as i stepped foot in one on rotation when a student nurse. lol and of course she had all the other patients all fired up too. so it was like zap time , with meds last night. ....i hope they realize that we cant keep her there we arent equipted for it. we are laid back more with our sweet litte geriatic patients. never complain anymore about them ...lol

We got another half inch of rain last night. garden looks lush and green again this morning. except my green pepper  plant  , it looks like it got washed out of the ground....it is loaded with peppers i hope it will be ok....oh well dont need a lot of them anyway guess i can go buy them at farmers market.

I dont know what i did to my back but it stariled hurting so bad at work last night and is still hurting this morning. . dont know if it started as tension and then pushing that med cart i pulled somthing or what but it was burning hurting all in my spine from in between my shoulder blades all the way down and down the front of my thighs. and the backs of them too but mainly the front.  and i forgot to take my ultram with me ....ive already put it in my bag i take to work with me now ....wont go off without that again. also put my bottle of stronger stuff in there too. wont take that unless i just have to tho while at work.

i had strawberries this morning , enough for a nice little bowl of them , so that is what i will have  in a little while. love strawberries almost as much as watermelon . dont know which i would say is number one. i think it is which ever is in front of me lol

going to try and start something new daily ....a friend of mine does this on another forum so if you see it there too , dont think i stole it without her knowing it lol ....anyway will be the question of the day and i will put it in my post at the end....like

QUESTION OF THE DAY:::::::If you could have a theme song played every time you came into a room what would it be and why?????

My them song would be Ole Time Rock & Roll by Bob Seger.  Love that song.

I did an experiment yesterday with my menu.  I tracked it here on the OH nutrition site and also wrote it down and counted WW points.  My daily allotment of 20 points was gone and I needed another 15 to get thru the day.  I always thought a point was worth about 50 calories....apparently not.  According to the OH log, I had 874 calories, 37 carbs and 112 grams of protein.

Jan, I couldn't handle a psych patient either, but then I couldn't work in the medical field.  My niece is a nurse for a urologist.  She has some stores to tell!!

Seems wrong to deprive a patient meds they need because someone wouldn't sign some papers.  I know someone has to pay but surely there's a better way.

Jo:::: good song .....
it sure is hard to get the right amount of things when you track stuff isnt it? you need more calories than 874 especially for your body to kick into metabolisim. drive. lol just seems weird to me to have to eat more to lose more. that is my main problem is trying to get in enough calories in a day without resorting to something that i dont need ....No matter how hard i try ....about 800 to 900 is all i can get in. if real lucky i can get in a 1000
Didnt mean that she hadnt had any meds just not any that would calm her down since that is what she was there for was to see what meds to try after they figured out what was going on. whether she was psycotic, OCD , BI-Polar or what. But she wouldnt take anything at all because she just wouldnt. Anyway she seems a lot more calmer than she was.

Mine would be "She's a Brick House". I love it!!!
I'm doing a liquid and fruit diet for a couple of days and I'm so loving the fruit. I had a great shake this AM, Click and unflavored Unjury with extra cocoa powder, splenda and instant coffee crystals. Love that coffee mocha stuff. Then tonight I'll have more protein stuff. It's OK for a couple of days but I will definitely eat on Thursday night - date night!!
It's sort of a modified pouch test but I'm trying to get away from refined carbs - just have fruit ones and this is a great time of year for that process. I also eat a banana every day because I have cramps in my feet and I need the extra potassium I think. Hope your back is better, Jan. I hate back pain. I've had a little in my left shoulder today so I chanced an Aleve and that takes care of it.
Tomorrow I have to go to a training class for CPR/AED from 8:30 until 1pm so that should be fun!! My friend here at work is going with me so we'll have a good time. I promised her!! I had CPR in nursing school and I talked to the instructor and he said they still teach it the way we did it then. They may stop the breathing part soon but the Red Cross hasn't approved that yet so to be certified we have to do it the old way. We have the AED device in our office for the whole building and we have four certified people but they are all teachers who don't work in the summer so Kristy and I (full time) need to do it then.
Jan, I'm jealous of your home grown strawberries. I love them and there's nothing like the ones you grow yourself.
I really don't have any news. The people whose house burned during the meeting on the 16th are working on it. They tore out all the sheetrock and of course the carpet and flooring. Don't see how they can ever get that smoke smell out but maybe they can. DH is investigating lightening rods now. Expect everyone in our neighborhood is!!!
Hugs and love to all. I'm not going to say I'll see you in August because I was such a pain about the July meeting and I jinxed myself.

Lana, glad to see another Click lover.  Lou also loves it.  I've been out a couple weeks and hope my shipment arrives today.  I usually have Click with a cup of Almond Breeze every morning but I'm hungry by about 8:30.  Since I've been out of Click I've had a protein shake and don't get hungry so I'm going to add unflavored protein powder from now on.

I guess its called If you knew Susie like I know Susie or something like that. My mom used to sing it to me when I was small. Of course there is always Oh Susie Q. And wake up little Susie. I used to hear them all. My mom is a singer and drove me crazy sometimes. I have to admit my Dh's ring tone on my phone is Oh Susie Q.   Does that make me vain?
