Did any of you get that rain last night? wow it was really something. didnt last too long but gave us a half inch , that is better than nothing, It came down like pouring it out of a bucket....i know all the plants loved it. I guess because rain water doesnt have all the chemicals in it , plants just love it. and look so much better after it has rained.

Yesterday morning early Joe got up and we got the rest of the garden weeded. I piddled around outside for a while , off and on. drank lots of water and stayed in the house a lot yesterday , altho it didnt seem quite as hot yesterday as it has been being ...suppose to be a little cooler today i think too. i know most of us are ready for it to not be so hot but August is coming up and usually that is the hottest month we have. But maybe since it has been so hot in July it will be cooler in August , not going to hold my breath tho for that one

My new green beans that i planted a couple of weeks ago are starting to bloom and getting big now. so i will have some more to put in the freezer....love fresh ones you grow yourself but hate the things they try to pass off to us as green beans out of a can...yuck ...same goes for most veggies tho. even the ones you grow yourself taste better than the fresh produce you can buy in the store....so much better.

Hope you all have a great Sunday, my mini  vacations has come to an end and i got almost nothing done that i wanted to get done, was just too hot outiside to stay out all day...Tomorrow i have to go back to work , but it is payday so that is good lol ....this one is a big one too. i worked a lot in this last pay period. , a lot. but it comes at a great time , our house ins and car and motorcycle insurance all came in due at the same time...lot of money to pay out. yuck....

talk to you all later today ....have fun stay cool..

We got rain yesterday and it looks like it may rain today.

Jan, don't worry about the work you didn't get done.  It will wait for you....LOL

Those fresh green beans sound good.  I used to can green beans in the pressure cooker.  I don't like frozen green beans at all.

My roast was very tender cooked in the pressure cooker.  I'm going to start using it more.  The taste of the roast just isn't like I remember but I can eat it.  I fixed a package of Bird's Eye veggie combo, broccoli, carrots and snowpeas.  Took one bite and couldn't eat any more.  I just don't like them.  Max thought everythings was delicious.

I bought a couple boxes of protein chips......nasty.  Some people on BE talk about them and how delicious they are.  I'm not buying any more of that stuff.  I don't like the protein cereal either.  I went to Aldi's yesterday and got several of their Fit & Active products, very good and cheap.

I'm going to make some breakfast bars from a recipe from Bariatric Eating.  They have really good recipes.

lol i have found that allmost all of those chips , etc most of them are just nasty ...lol ...
let us know how the breakfast bars come out i would be very interested ....the protein bars are just so expensive but some of them are sure good. especially the Atkins ones. and pure protein

I made 3 new recipes.....Peanut Butter Bars (18 grams of protein), Beet Salad and Japanese Zuchinni and Onions.  The bars didn't turn out as bars but more like granola, however the mix tastes really good.  I did it exactly as the recipe said.  They aren't baked.  You put the mixture in a 9x13 pan and chill then cut into 16 bars.  So now I have a lot of little individual containers of the mix.  I will add it to my yogurt.

The Beet Salad was easy and the marinade was vinegar and orange juice.  No sugar or sweetner was called for but after tasting it I  added Splenda.  The zuchinni was really good.  That's a veggie I really like.

Our protein was the leftover pressure cooked chicken.  I took one bite and couldn't swallow it, had to spit it out.  It tasted just awful.  The dogs loved it.  Max had the dark meat but he said it tasted fine to him.  What is it about foods that have been reheated taste so bad?

Maybe I should try eating more beans and lentils.  I have a hard time with meat and sometimes chicken.  Fish always tastes good.  Guess I should eat more fish.

Those Atkins  bars are really good and not terribly expensive.  I ordered some online that were really good but a little pricey.  I don't like the Pure Protein bars at all.  Bought a box of Detour bars at Costco and can't eat them either.

Time for me to get settled in the recliner and work on Jessica's afghan.

I am alive and kicking this morning. I finally went potty and boy was it a relief. I just got a good sponge bath and feel so much better. I have had a terrible odor which I think was related to poop and hope I have washed it away. Sounds bad I know but just in case anyone else goes thru this they will know they are not alone.
I have had a lot of stinging pain and burning but no sharp pains. I have been taking my pain meds regular. I know take a stool softener with each one and a laxative daily. I know I have said I have several other things I want done but at this moment I feel like I can live with with the extra skin elsewhere. Maybe time will change my mind.

So far I am very pleased with my results. I think getting the drains out and maybe a new dressing will give me a better idea of what the final results will be. But so far I am happy. If I have a little lose skin so be it, I am not twenty . I think the difference is tremendous so far.

My Mother in law went home yesterday. I so enjoyed having her here. She is a wonderful person and was so nice to fly out here to help at eighty years old. She was a big help too.

I hope you are doing well and are happy. Keep me in your prayers.

Susie see you are going to make it , it has been what 4 days and you are already feeling a lot better...when the skin starts healing then the pain stops being so bad.

I would love to have the excess skin removed from my tummy and back but if i can get a face lift i will be totally content...i feel good and dont feel like i look...i look old but i feel young. very young. so if i could have a face lift and make me look a few years younger i would be so happy. the only other place that bothers me is my arms cause i love wearing sleeveless tops and do at home all the time.

awwww that was so nice of your MIL to come and help you out....
will continue to keep on praying for you .....
