So needless to say I feel like a giant failure...

I had gastric bypass 3/25/08 and managed to lose just under 100lbs. The lowest I got was 267 from my highest weight of 360.

I am now a little over 2 years out and I have started to regain like crazy. I feel like a HUGE failure.

I am now looking into all options that could get me back on track. I am looking for any suggestions for surgeons that I can look into in the state of Missouri that does revisions.

I am desperate, can anyone help...

Since you are in Granite City, St. Louis woudl probably be the best for you.   The only places I know of in St Louis that do revisions are the weight loss surgeons at Depaul and Barnes Hospitals.   The only one I am familiar with is Depaul.   They have a great program.   The number is 314 344-6800.   I would call them and see what they advise you to do.  If you need any more info feel free to pm me.

I'm in the Kansas City area and the only WLS surgeon I'm familiar with is John Price who was my doctor.  There's someone that posted recently on this board that is having a revision, but I can't remember her name.  You might scroll through here and see if you can find it.

My surgery was July 8th, 2008.  I've lost about 70 lbs. and need to lose at least another 20.  I go up and down a few pounds.

I know it must be very discouraging to have gone thru the process and not get close to a healthy weight.  You don't mention if the problem is because you don't follow a healthy diet and exercise or if the problem is surgery related.

Don't think of yourself as a failure.  You don't fail until you quit.  If you aren't eating properly, then get back on track.

Hope you find a doctor to help you, but don't put yourself down.

Hi my name is Tammy and I am the one I think they were talking about that's having the revision done. My story is very simular to yours. I started at 369lbs. I had my gastric bypass on 02/01/08. I got down to 249lbs within 7 months. Came to a complete stall. Then started gaining back, up to 270lbs. I went to Dr.,had test done and found out that the opening between my pouch and my intestants is 3X larger than it should be. So now I am having a new surgery done on Aug.23rd. They said it was caused by me over stuffing. So I know exactly how you feel about being a failure.I love my Dr.and trust him. He's Dr. Hornbostel out of Sedalia,MO.I know it's hard and I have to keep telling myself also, but don't be to hard on yourself.Hope all works out for you. Take Care, Tammy V.

My journey to live life to the fullest!!!

Dont feel like you are a failure. Sometimes u need that extra push to help you achieve your goal. Have you tried Dr Eagon from Barnes Jewish Hospital in St Louis Missouri. He is awesome! I had to quit seeing him b/c I had moved clear across the state. But i would recommend him to anyone. You know i have been where u are. And my new Gastric bypass Dr told me that i may need that extra push. So i have to go thru a few tests to find out why i have plateaued. And if my pouch has stretched he talked about placing a Realize Band over my pouch to help me achieve my weight loss. You might wanna look into that..If have any more questions just ask away I always like to help..
