Jan, I'll pass on your suggestion yesterday to work with you and sweat.    Ewwwww!!  I'll cook and clean while you work outside.

My son went home yesterday and hopes to do outpatient and go back to work.  Today he is going to see the district manager to see if his employer will go along with that plan.  I think more time is needed, but he had to leave the lockdown facility where he has been since Sunday.  He said he misses working and his STD only pays 60% of his income.  I hope he can get the DL thing straightened out so he can drive.  Barbara can take him to outpatient but he would need someone to pick him up there and drop him at work then she can pick him up from work.

Jeanie was asking about drinking alcohol yesterday.  My doctor discouraged it for I think the first year then only occasionally.  I've never cared for alcohol so wasn't a problem for me.  A woman in my office had the band but didn't give up alcohol.  She's not an alcoholic but drinks a lot on weekends.   She lost 80 lbs. and regained almost all of it.  She has lost some of that weight but told me this week she's giving up on dieting.

I'm sure I have an eye infection.  My left eye is driving me nuts.  I have an appointment with the eye doctor Monday.  None of them were in yesterday.  I've been using eye drops but they aren't helping.  So I think it's an infection rather than just dry eyes.

Tonight I'm making an Eggplant Casserole.  I'll post the recipe.  It has ground beef and cheese in it so it's healthy.

Hey Jan and All,
I just want to let you all know that I have decided to go ahead with the revision. I talked to my personal Dr. and she really suggested that I have it done. She truely believe that I will continue to gain the wait back. And I am still even after the weight that I have loss that I am still morbitly obese, And my blood pressure has never went down, accually has gotten worse. But she also says that I really have to dedicate at least a whole year to following everything exactly like I should. Cuz it will be at a higher risk of exploding my stomach. So I really have to work it all out in my head before I have it done again. My surgery is scheduled for Aug.27th.I will start my liquid diet on Aug.13th.I'm trying to get my self off the dt soda already and am really foucusing on my vitamins and water and protien. To get back in the habit of taking them again.
Take care and God Bless, Love,Tammy V.

My journey to live life to the fullest!!!

Tammy so glad that you decied to go ahead....yes im sure you will be able to lose more weight ....what you really need to focus on is a change of lifestyle....not a diet ok? if you only focus on a diet for one year after that year you start to eat like you do now? you will gain a lot of it back ok ....so remember it isnt a diet but a change in the way you will eat for the rest of your life. that isnt to say that you will never be able to taste this or that, you will but a taste not a whole plate full. and a taste is one or two bites. lol    Vits and Protein. they also are a lifetime committment ...dont ever get off of them . they are what help you be healthy not sick later on down the line. ...we are all wishing you the best of luck...and remember why you are having to have the revision. Please. follow the rules to the letter they are there for a reason. ....love you girl .

Tammy, it's great you can have the revision.   If you follow the rules, you can enjoy life so much more.  I was on 3 BP meds and Nexium before surgery but I've been off them since being about a month out.

Before surgery, I had one can of diet Coke a day but I gave it up completely before surgery.  Since then, I buy one occasionally thinking about how refreshing I used to think they were and they just taste awful so I've finally quit buying them.

Losing the weight improves your health so much but it's also good for self esteem.  At least it has been for me.  You will feel so much better and have so much more energy.
