WHATS HAPPENING THURSDAY

So far today it isnt raining, guess that is new at the moment. We have had 1.75 inches in the last two days...that is a good rain for a week...if we could just have that much every week it would be great for everything. when it hasnt rained at least 1.50 inches in a week i have to water to make up for it on most of my plants but then i have a lot that dont require much water at all....
Oh i have apples on my crab apple trees. if there are enough of them im going to make some crab apple jelly with them, sugar free of corse. you can get the sure jel that has no sugar in it and works good.

my face is looking really good for it to have been only a week ago that i fell. all the scabs on the scrapes are all gone and not leaving scars at all. I have been using Vit E oil on it since it scabbed over and it is doing really well. only have a couple of  bruises left too. the bone above the eye is still puffy and sore to the touch and that area is the only part that is swollen really...so im doing pretty good if i just dont fall again lol ...im really watching what i do now tho.

Well just another couple of weeks at the most and the stupid Japanese Beetles will be gone again to go underground to lay eggs i guess that grow into grubs that come out of the ground next year and start eating evefrything in site...this time im going to treat the ground with a chemical that kills the grub stage. get them before they come out of the ground.....will take quite a bit of it but it will be worth it, now if i can convince every one around here that it will be worth it so they have no where to go to....bad thing is that when you buy things to plant that sometimes they are in the dirt that they are growing in. then the process starts all over again.

Dont know what did it but something kept digging at one of my Azelas and have done it so much that they have killed it. looked like the digging of an amardilla. dont know but that is what i would guess, they usually dig to find grubs. anyway thtat isnt too bad i guess to loose one out 9....sure wi**** hadnt happened but ...the rest of them are all looking really well. need to go get more mulch and put over them before winter tho.

my goal today is to get the two big long flower beds up front de weeded lol the ones that have the tulips in them in the spring.....Next year Joe is going to build me two large fencing boxes to cover the tulips so the deer cant get to them ....we thought we would build it about 2 feet tall and put chicken wire on sides and top and that will keep them from getting to them . it will eliminate the rabbits eating them too. wont they be surprised lol ....and maybe we will get to enjoy the tulips
anyway i have zinnias, balsum and Cleome planted in them on top of the tulips right now. if i dont plant something there then it would be just two beds of weeds and it it right in front of the house so have to have something there.

well got to go and get busy , im off again today and need to get some work done. Tomorrow is payday and will be gone most of the day getting things bought that i have on THE LIST lol ....
talk to you all later....love and hugs

I tried to get on here earlier and the site went crazy, opening one window after another.  I couldn't close them fast enough so had to restart.

Jan, sounds like you have your own nursery.  My flower garden under the front window is looking good.  Max made another flower bed in the back corner of the yard that's looks really nice too.

Max is going to a session with my son about grief.  Greg has never gotten over the death of his father 15 years ago.  His dad always seemed to favor Greg's brother although I think he loved them equally.  Eric was always more demanding.

I'm working on accepting the fact that Greg has to do this.  I can be supportive and encouraging but he has to do the work and it's up to him if he successful.  It's like us with weight loss, we have to do it for ourselves and it's great if we have support from family and friends, but we have to do it because we want it.

Last night I went to Eyemasters to get glasses.  The special is 2 pair of no-line bifocal for $149.  I knew they would try to get me to spend more and they did.  Better lens would be $75 and no glare was another $50.  I stuck with the $149.

Looks like rain again.

Jo sometimes this site is such a pain, if there were anywhere else to visit with all my dear friends daily i would do it do any of you have facebook?

The grief your son feels for his father may be what caused him to be an alcholic dont know but maybe it started as a way to ease the pain.  sometimes it is something in the past that they find that the pain is eased when they drink....
Yep he will have to do the work and you are right about supporting him but he has to do it and no amount of us wanting him to do it will make a difference.

glad you got new glasses....i need to go do that too. or at least go have them checked.

Hi everyone!  I can't believe its been a week today since my surgery.  What a difference a week makes.  I'm feeling much better everyday.  The swelling is going down, thankfully.  I went for my post op yesterday with Dr. Hawes.  He said he fixed a hernia in my belly button, tightned my abd. muscles, cut and sucked off 7 lbs.  God Bless him HAHAHA!  I still have the drain, I will get it out on Monday.  So far so good.

Jan reading your post makes me tired.  I don't know where you get all the energy.  I do love flowers though.  I'm going to miss that in my yard. I will be at the meeting on the 16th, I can't wait to see everyone.

Jo, congratulations on your surgiversary! I hope all is well with your family, I've been praying for you all.

Have a great day everyone! :D Lou

Hi OH,

It's been a rough couple of days. Haven't worked very much this week and the bills are starting to come in. I got the one time death benefit from SS,and it helped and I know I will be able to manage, just having to spread the bills out so they are easier to handle. Did get some loose ends tied up, and that feels good.

Jan~I thought I was going to be a gardner, but I don't think I will get into it right now. I don't mind going out and picking the tomatoes and some of the others but don't like playing in the dirt. We have gotten some green beans and zuchini, cucumbers and grape tomatoes. Put the green beans in the freezer. Think I'm gonna do zuchinni bread and put them in the freezer too.

Can't wait to see you at the meeting, glad you are healing well.

Jo~Acceptance on your part is the start of the healing process, when my DH was drinking so much I went to Al ANON, and I had to learn to accept that I couldn't make him quit and that he was the one that had to make the choice to do so. I pray that your son gets the strength to stick with his program.

Good for you on standing your ground with the glasses. I need to go get some and am dreading having to, I need trifocals and they really want to sock it to you.

Lou~I can't wait to see you at the meeting, I'll bet you look fantastic. I'm with Jan, you put in a lot of hours during tax season, you rock girl.

Need to post and get ready, have to pick up a movie tonight that delivers here in Seymour in the morning, at least I'll have a paycheck tomorrow.

Love you all.

HUGS

Jeanie:::: i dont doubt that you will make it on your own. You have to remember that you are still in the greiving process...it will get better as you go along...the greiving will change into something not so painful...Im praying for you with the work and the bills , I know you said that DH did all the bills ? you will get your sea legs about that soon...You are a very smart woman ....

LOL no i dont think you can be much of a gardner if you dont like playing in the dirt ....i guess you would be a gather? lot of people are like that....i love the growing part of it better than the harvest...

how in the world do you use tri focals i think i would get too confused with those ....i bet they do charge a lot for them...

hope you didnt have to drive in all of this rain we are having but then you may not have had as much as we have. it rained most of the day for the last 3 and looks like today isnt going to be any different..r

how are you doing on your weight loss.....has it stalled on you yet? it usually does not too long after surgery and causes a lot of people to get discouraged but it is just your body catching up with itself.
Keep on track with your drinking of water...it can be one of the first things that people start slipping on...are you still doing your protein supplements? I still use at least one protein drink a day and in the hot summer time usually 2...
Keep on track with all of your vits. dont let those slip if you do you will pay for it down the road somewhere....your health is too important to not keep up with them...

love you and cant wait to see you all on the 16th

Wow Jan, you are amazing. I so wish I knew how to garden. Every time I try my kids call it my vegetable graveyard. No support from those ingrates. LOL

Today is day 4 of the pouch test. I can fee the difference and getting the control over carbs back is phenomenal. It feels good. I am having to remind myself what a gift this surgery is and that I need not abuse it. It's my choice, after all what I put in my mouth. I've never followed the water rules, but I have been waiting thirty minutes either side of meals and cannot believe what a diff it makes. It's rough, but I know I'll get used to it.

Have a great evening everyone!

anyone can garden if they have the desire too.  I use to kill everything that i touched , really i did. I finally said now wait a minute if i am going to keep buying plants and seeds to try and garden then i need to quit killing things. So i got some books , i read and read and all the old time gardeners i talk and talked to them and listened ...like i always tell everyone you cant have a green thumb untill it has gotten black first (black with dirt).....

Im proud of you for sticking with the pouch test , so you now know that the pouch does work yet....

you need to start like you are learning to do the rules all over again....at least 64 oz of water a day....to help you remember put a pitcher of water in the fridge so it will be nice and cold if you like it that way...with 64 oz of water in it early in the morning....set a timer for every 30 minutes if you have to , to remind you to drink water.
are you taking your vits?? like i told Jeanie in the post above...some have thought they didnt need them and have wound up with heart problems etc etc. down the road a ways...usually starts in about 4 years out....so please keep up with them ...your body works different now than it always did before hand....

Ps. sent you a private message....
