Hope everyone is having a safe and fun 4th. Nothing happening here. Just another day.

Jan, hope you are doing better.  So glad to see Jeannie posting. My heart is with you.

Had a great lunch with Debbie and Jo last Thursday. Hope to plan another this month. Also happy that some of us are getting together in Mound City in October. That will be a great time also. Can't wait.

Barbara thanks for starting the post. I got up late and have to go to work today....we stayed up late last nigh****ching fireworks on the lake here where we live ...the babies loved it but they finally fell asleep so we decided it was time to go to bed too. lol then i just plain overslept this morning but i guess i needed it...i cant seem to get enought sleep since i fell. i know that is a sign of a slight concussion but i dont have any other symptoms so i think i will be ok in time lol

love you all but i got to go and get ready for work....talk more later.

Barbara, I have cut back substantially on the Splenda.  I did check the Raspberry Chews and they are citrate.  So glad because I love them.  I think they're $7.95 a bag.

I plan to go to Mound City but I hope we can meet before that.

Today has been heartbreaking for me.  I just lost it.  My son who is rehab managed to get 5 bottles of Vodka so he was dismissed from the facility for breaking the rules.  I won't go into the whole store but he was charged last December with a DUI.  A civil suit found him not guilty.  Last Monday he received a letter at home that his driver's license has been suspended for a year.  He said that's what stressed him out and he bought the Vodka.

When his girlfriend called me I just lost control.  Barbara, the girlfriend, came up here and my sweet hubby went with her to drive Greg's car back.  There was no way I could go.  They didn't want to leave me and wanted to call a friend or my niece but I wouldn't let them.  Why ruin someone else's holiday.  I took a nap and I'm a little better.

They are taking him to Shawnee Mission for dtox and Valley Hope will take him back once he is detoxed.  Barbara told him he has to get clean and stay clean or he is out of a home.  He will also be without a job.

Sorry to be such a downer today.

Never be sorry to open up here, That is what friends are for. I am so sorry you have to deal with all the drama. I went though the drug thing with my son. Two rehabs before he actually got his act together. Not easy but, we do what we have to do. Always know someone will be here for you. The drivers license thing is bad but if he gets a job he can get a hardship license so he can at least get a job. You could call Jeff City and find out what you have to do and maybe that would give him some hope. I could tell you not to worry but, been there and won't ask you to do something you can't do. Hang in there and know we are here.

We definately will get together before October. We want to do each month before bad weather. Got any idea's where to meet this time?

Thanks for your kind words, Barbara and Debbie.  Greg lives in Kansas and they don't have a hardship license.  He has a job but he has to finish the alcohol program before he can go back to work.  They live in Louisburg so there's no public transportation.

His attorney is out of the office until Tuesday so we're hoping he can do something.

Greg is at Shawnee Mission Hospital de-tox facility and will be there about 5 days, then he will probably go back to Valley Hope.

((((Jo))))

I'm so sorry to hear about your son!  I'll be praying for him and your whole family.  Sometimes you have to hit rock bottom before you realize how messed up your are.  Will be praying that he takes the opportunity and does well this next time around.

Like Barbara said, don't ever apologize about how you're feeling.  The people on this board really care about each other - thru the good times AND the bad times.

Take care of yourself and try to pamper yourself a little --- remember you can only do so much and your son will have to do his part.
