WHATS HAPPENING TODAY THE 3RD
I have been fixing corn on the cob to be ready for the grill too. i take the silks off and pull the husks back up after putting butter and sprinkling them with garlic salt. i then wrap them in foil cause i dont like them to get burnt....made my potato salad already. and have our tomatoes and onions sliced for the hamburgers. been busy lol
Kim went town for Georges cake. I know he doesnt think we are going to do anything like that. wont be a huge party but enough to let him know we love him.
keeps looking like it is going to rain any minute. I told Joe he might want to back the truck out from under the ca rport and put his grill there ....anyway our back porch is a neat place to eat rain or not. we have been having fun filling watering cans and sprinkling the flowers lol with the babies. Mikaela keeps saying i made the flowers grow for you MiMI....she is so sweet.
well got to go i think the people that are down here for the week end will prob able sit off the fireworks tonight hopefully.
what are you all doing for your week end. Tomorrow i have to work so this is my independence day lol....

GOD BLESS YOU TODAY
JAN COOK
Jan, bet your GS will be so surprised. How nice of you to do the party for him. My dad was 75 before he had a BD party. We always celebrated his BD, but that year we secretly invited all the relatives and friends. He loved it.
I went to my great niece's BD party this morning. She wanted a horse party so they had it at a stable. There were 6 kids and they all got to ride horses inside the barn. The barn was huge. They played some games with horseshoes then they brought out a couple of goats. The goats were so cute. They have a small room with chairs, a table and an AC where you can have the cake.
Being outside yesterday at Powell Gardens and today at the horse barn really aggravated my allergies.
This evening I'm making a blue cheese burger for me and cheddar burger for Max. You form the patties then make a hole in the center and put cheese in the hole. Hope he can cook outside.
No plans for tomorrow. I'm going to go thru my fabric stash and try to sell some of it on Craig's List. There's a lot there I'll never use. I'm going to put my Thera shoes on there too.

Happy 4th of July OH,
I didn't get on here and post on the 3rd, but was kind of icky feeling. Think I may have gotten a bug from one of the kids again. Some of them were feeling ill during the week.
We are probably having a fish fry today, DS caught a mess of crappie and a couple if catfish friday night, they are cleaned and soaking in cold water in the fridge. Then tonight I'm sure they will set off some fireworks.
Used to really love the fireworks, but they just don't really thrill me much anymore.
Am doing ok, losing weight pretty steady, am able to eat chicken again, as long as I use a sauce to keep it moist, most veggies work, can eat salads like I love them and even made curried chicken last night with brown rice.
Hope everyone has a good fourth, enjoy the celebration.
HUGS
Jeanie, hope you're feeling better today. I love fish and since I discovered the Panko breadcrumbs I'll be having it a lot more. I like it baked or grilled too.
I don't care anything about fireworks. So far, the fire crackers haven't been too bad in my neighborhood. It's crazy how they preach safety.....seatbelts, kids in car seats, kids wear helmets to ride a bicycle....then people give the kids fireworks to light.
I couldn't eat chicken for about 6 months. Chicken and eggs tasted alike. I still don't care for eggs. I didn't eat salads for about 4 months and rice bothers me so I don't eat it.
Take care.
