Daily Bible Reading - Wednesday - June 30th
With what everyone has read this past 6 months, what has stuck with you the most? For me it has to be David I think, David was an overcomer no matter the situation. I really like how David before he became king and Saul was chasing him and trying to kill him because of what Sauls people were telling him about David. Saul knew David was the next appointed king but I believe he was jealous. I loved where David and his men went into hiding in the cave and Saul just happened into the same cave, Davids men wanted to kill Saul but David, being a man of God’s own heart, would not let them touch Saul because David knew Saul was still God’s anointed. He did sneak up without Saul knowing and cut the corner of Sauls robe and then approached Saul, I think right there Saul knew for sure David was going to be king. David and Saul made a covenant that day, Saul asked him not to harm any of his family in any way and David agreed, and David stuck to that covenant. I really came to respect David even more after reading that. David was so encouraging to me, with everything he had to overcome he still put God first and trusted God. Makes me know that if David can over come anything so can all of us.

Daily Devotional
Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends"
(John 15:13, NIV)
Today is Memorial Day in America. It's a time to honor all those who have given their lives in service for our country. As we remember what these brave men and women did, let's honor the gift they have given us by choosing to show greater love to others.
I'm so thankful that Jesus loved us enough to lay down His life so that we could spend eternity with Him. He was the ultimate expression of love. But did you know that there are ways you can lay down your life to express your love to others? When you let go of having your own way, or when you put the needs and desires of others above your own desires, that's a form of laying down your life. Today, choose to follow Christ's example by putting others first because love is all that matters in eternity.
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father God, thank You for another day to praise You. Thank You for being the ultimate example of love. Help me follow Your example and lay down my life for others. Let everything I do bring honor to You. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
