You know in the Old Testament they’ve gone through so many kings by now I can’t keep up with them all.  Ever since King David died there hasn’t been a king with his faith and determination.  Most kings since David let the ruler ship of being a king go to their heads, they all have been full of sin and for the most part not obeyed God’s law.  Yeah some did for a short time but they all end up still be full of sin and not worshiping other gods and so forth, what a shame.

I really like reading the book of Acts and about all the miracles that were performed in that book.  Paul being the traveling evangelist that he was seemed to really love what he was doing for the Lord.  His faith and determination was so strong.  He was determined to get the gospel preached all over the land and he sure didn’t care who he ran into or what people thought of him, all he wanted to do is tell people about Jesus and how to be saved.  You know when you read through all of Pauls messages, its the same messages being preached today, that soon Chris is coming back, you know if He was coming back so soon back then, how much time do we have left before He comes back now?  Not much at all, the signs of the times are really pointing to the second coming of Christ big time.

Psalms is so encouraging this morning, as it is every morning.  Verse 5 this morning I really loved…But joyful are those who have the God of Israel as their helper, whose hope is in the Lord their God.

The devotional this morning hit spot on in my life where I am at.  It’s totally time to move past the mountain I have been looking at all this time and get on with what God has in the future for me.  That mountain might seem big but all we have to do is start climbing and He will be right there with us helping us climb, it might seem hard at first but don’t give up and don’t give in, don’t let the enemy talk you into sitting down, keep moving up that mountain towards your Victory, God will be right there to carry us through.

Today’s Reading

2 Kings 13:1-14:29
Acts 18:23-19:12
Psalm 146:1-10
Proverbs 18:2-3

Daily Devotional

"…you have stayed long enough at this mountain"
(Duet 1:6, NIV)

Let me ask you, do you go out each day knowing that favor is already in your future? Or have you gotten stuck in a rut staring at a mountain of disappointment, setbacks or difficulty?

That's what happened to the people of Israel. They were headed toward their promised land. They had big goals and big dreams, but along the way they hit some setbacks and had some disappointments. They got so discouraged that they gave up on their dreams and just settled where they were. One day God said to them, "You have dwelt long enough on this mountain." He was saying, "It's time to move past this and embrace the blessing in your future."

I believe God is saying that to each one of us today. You've been where you are long enough. God is saying, "This is a new day. Get your fire back. Where you are is not where you're supposed to stay." If you'll be determined to move past your mountain, He will lead you and empower you to live in favor and blessing in every area of your life!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Heavenly Father, I give to You every area of my heart. I give You my questions, my disappointments, my doubts and fears. I choose to trade my sorrow for Your joy. I choose to press past my mountains so I can embrace the promises You have in store for me. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
