But if you from Missouri you know how fickle Missouri weather is. Do you think having surgery in the Spring/Summer is better then the Fall/Winter??

I mean I know surgery is hard on the body and I know from what I am reading we have to start moving ASAP after wards. I know I maybe jumping the gun..I just have a ton of question and trying to find a ton of information. This is so over whelming..

Things I do know
1. I want it done in the city where I live.
2. St. Luke's takes Medicare(I emailed and asked)
3. I made my first registration for a seminar.
4. I am joining the YMCA gotta start moving
5. and this the most important. I AM TIRED OF HURTING AND BEING FAT

I don't think time of year matters.  I was so happy to get mine scheduled I never gave the weather a thought.  My surgery was 7/8/08 and the best thing I ever did.  I had my surgery at St. Luke's with Dr. Price.

You do need to start walking ASAP but if you have a membership at the Y, you can walk there.

Good luck and let us know how you're progressing.  I started my journey in January so it took a few months.  My insurance required a 3 month diet and exercise program.  Just what I wanted to do after dieting for 35 years.

I feel the same, anytime is a good time if you are ready....Summer would be easier to get to your appointments. Walking now is great. You might try not going all the way down the hill but just a short distance and walk back up so you don't get too tired until you build up the energy.

Here is my take on it. Do you have seasonal affective disorder? If so, summer may be better just because of the opportunity to make it outside and do things if your mood gets down.

Although I did mine spring/summer (2009) and I had lots of problems (doing better now of course), but when summer this year rolled around, I had memories from my bad time last year creep up on me and I am having a hard time enjoying this time of year. Certain smells, certain weather - all has really been hard to cope with. I'm sure it will get better as time/years pass.

Good luck!!

Jennifer
