Daily Bible Reading - Friday - June 18th
Wasn’t that a miracle of how Peter was able to escape out of prison? I get so excited when I read about a miracle God did. His miracles come in all shapes and sizes. I think Peter thought he was dreaming or something the way he was able to just walk by the 2 guards and how then the iron gate to the city just opened by itself, that must have been so awesome. Can you imagine the looks on their faces when Peter went to Mary the mother of Johns house? She heard his voice through the door but got so excited she didn’t open it lol, I had to giggle at that.
That was kind of ironic that Psalms today was all about giving thanks to the Lord and how His Love endures forever, after reading about the miracle of Peter getting out of jail. Giving thanks is so important and so very necessary. Approaching God with a thankful heart to me is a vital part of our lives.
With all the negativity in the world today reading the devotional sure makes me check my own attitude toward things. I truly believe having a Positive attitude in any situation will get us further in life then being negative all the time. Being positive in a negative situation brings out our faith and declares His goodness in our lives, when we do that you’ll be able to watch His favor work in our lives.
Today’s Reading
1 Kings 19:1-21
Acts 12:1-23
Psalm 136:1-26
Proverbs 17:14-15
Daily Devotional
Psalm 9:11
"Sing praises to the Lord, Who dwells in
God wants to give you something to talk about! He wants to overwhelm you in such a way that everywhere you go, you talk about what God is doing in your life. You tell your friends, your neighbors, your children, your grandchildren about the great things God has done for you!
Are you looking for His goodness? Are you talking about what He’s already done in your life? God never intended for us to just drag through life defeated and discouraged. We aren’t supposed to go around with a negative attitude saying, “I never get any good breaks. I never get promoted. My back has been hurting for three years." No, we are supposed to declare His Word and watch it come to pass!
I encourage you to choose an attitude of faith today. Start talking about His goodness and be a living testimony of all God has done. If you’ll start living breakthrough–minded, God will show up and give you something to talk about!
Today's thought: Thank You for Your goodness and grace. Thank You for blessing me with life today. I choose to have a thankful attitude and to declare Your goodness everywhere I go.
