Payday and also give away day.....and then i have to go to work today too....oh well sure wish i could find a job where they didnt need anyone...and you could stay home all the time except payday and you could talk them into mailing that to you. lol
My daddy use to say that all the time . it sort of stuck especially after i had to start working too. Funny some of the things you remember about your parents when they are gone , isnt it. most of what i remember about my day was his laugh and always pulling pranks on people. He use to make these wooden circles and then wrote on them  tuit , and when some one would say they would do so and so when they got a round to it... he would give them one of his round tuits ...and would say will here you go now you have a round to it so get busy ...silly little things like that are what i remember most about my dad, and that he was tall and handsome . wonder why i am thinking about my mom and dad so much this morning? They were great parents. not that they didnt have flaws like any human but those seem to fade the longer they have been gone. They were good people.

Does anyone have a pressure cooker that they no longer want? and how much would you want for it. If you live around in this area somewhere. I need one to can some things. All i have is a cold bath canner and they say that you cant can things that arent acidy in that....This is something new im doing so dont know a lot about it yet. any you canners out there let me know some of your years of canning secrets. ok?

Joe tilled up the garden areas yesterday for me the places that i havent planted anything yet and the areas where the beets and peas were. will plant some late stuff now in August, may plant some more watermelon lol ....only have 3 big hills of it. and my grandson and Joe both love watermellong as much as i do. if i can find big enough plants already....

i thined out my patch of marigolds yesterday and planted them all around the garden fence between the garden and the chickens. as i was digging in the dirt along the fence the chickens would come up and jus****ch me ....

well will get off here now so i can put these peas in thye freezer . talk to you all later. .....

Jan, I too remember things about my parents and sometimes dream about them.  I remember how my mother's fingers smelled when she would button my coat.....so clean.  Strange I would remember something like that.  My dad was a prankster too.  I am like him in many ways.  I don't like most leftovers and he didn't either.  He had no interest in traveling and I don't either.

Your talking about a pressure cooker brought back memories too.  After my mother passed away, I took over the canning.  I had never used a pressure cooker and was really afraid of them.  I had been around many years while she used one but she never let me handle it.  My first day canning green beans at my dad's and he came in the kitchen to check the cooker.  He said I hope you know what's you're doing.  I need a new roof but I'm not ready for it yet.  I had read the instructions and I soon got my confidence up.  Eventually, I had 2 pressure cookers going at the same time.

Not much going on with me.  Tomorrow is the day we go into the community and do charitable deeds for various organizations.  I'm a lead and have 6 women on my team to do painting outside.

Hey Tammy V,
I'm from Kirksville. My youngest daughter just spent two weeks there with my family. That's where I grew up! Have you always been there?
