UPDATE ON DH

Good Morning OH,

Came home for the day to get things and myself together some. Have been at the hospital as much as possible, so haven't been reading the board.

DH will have a revised triple by-pass withe valve repair. He was moved to SICU yesterday and a cardiac cathiter (sp.?) put in place, they are trying to lower his pulmonary blood pressure before surgery, right now it is dangerously high. Surgery may be Friday don't really have a set time yet.

The surgery is very risky, but we seem to have a very good surgeon. I am already thanking God we got him to his Cardiologist before it was too late.

This is the hardest thing I have ever had to deal with and right now I'm numb. I started smoking again, and have wanted to eat everything in the world. Of course the eating is out of the question. I hate myself because I bought the cigarettes, but I can't stand the way I feel and don't know how to handle it right now. I feel at a loss, my family is around me, but the possibility of losing him has me in a fog.

Need to post this and get busy so I can go back to the hospital, am going to try and get a room at the hospitality lodging so I can be there till the surgery is done and he's out of recovery. Won't have my computer, so will post his progress when I come back home.

HUGS

Jeaonie good to see you on here this morning. I know how you feel with the the dreadful possibilities looming ahead. When Joe was crushed in his wreck and we didnt know what the prognosis would be i had so many bad feelings that i thought of going back to the cigarets so dont  beat yourself up over that....after things are better you can work on that again ....it just hinders your lung capacity and your ablity to hopefully get away from the O2 all the time.  Loving you and continue to pray for you and your Husband....Im sure you have one of the best Cardiologist they have.
having a hospitality room will help you out a lot since you can cook and everything there. love you and we all miss you. How are you doing on the eating? able to keep any food down....just keep the carbs at bay , it is really easy in stressful times to want to eat chips, candy etc...they were our comforters before ...so if you have to choose between Cig. and carbs i would say the carbs will hinder your weight loss much much more than an cig will.....love you

Glad to hear from you Jeanie.  Wish the news was better, but it sounds like he's getting great care.  I've never been a smoker so can't identify with that issue.  Try to eat healthy and take care of yourself.

Keep us posted.  We're all thinking of you and hubby.

Jeanie,
Don't hate yourself for the cigs...we do what we do to get thru sometimes...although it's not a great thing to go back to, it's NOT the end of the world. I saw a prayer request on FB from jan and have been praying for you all!
Let's all thank God for him being back home recovering from the surgery you described above! It WILL happen!
Hugs and prayers to/for you!!!
