Reading in I Kings about Solomon and how he has the favor of the Lord is really amazing.  The Lord called David a man after His own heart and it seems Solomon has that same heart and will be even greater then David ever was.  The Lord really saw the potential that Solomon had and was very pleased with him especially when Solomon had the dream and when the Lord asked Solomon in the dream what he wanted Solomon asked for wisdom on how to rule Gods people properly.  Solomon could of asked for riches and fame and all that but he didn’t and that really pleased God to no end and God gave Solomon the wisdom he asked for along with all the riches and fame he could ever dream of.  Solomon must have been a great song writer for he wrote 1000 songs and 3000 proverbs, now that’s using his wisdom wisely.  I can’t wait to get into more of the story of Solomon.

Daily Devotional

"For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there"
(James 3:16, NKJV)

All throughout scripture, God commands us to love. In fact, 1 Corinthians tells us that love is the greatest thing. Love is all that matters on this earth, and it's all that will last in eternity. But do you realize that we are protected when we walk in love? When we are selfish or self-seeking, the scripture tells us that it opens the door to confusion and every evil work. But when we walk in love, when we choose to put others first, when we choose to be patient and kind and walk in unity, we are protected by love. We close the door to the plans of the enemy in our lives.

Today, check your love walk. Read 1 Corinthians 13 and see if you emulate the characteristics of love. Remember, love is not a feeling; it's a choice. When you choose love, it's like you are covered by a force field of protection that cannot be penetrated.

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father God, I humbly come before You today asking that You search my heart. Remove any selfish way in me and help me to always walk in love. Thank You for protecting me through Your promises. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

I Corinthians 15:57 - But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
