Waynesville/St Robert Support Group Mtg

Just an FYI for everyone. We usually meet the 3rd Saturday of the month. But the library had to move us this month as they are doing a Fathers Day thing that weekend.

So for June we are meeting on the 26th at 9 am at the Pulaski County Library in Waynesville, MO.

Hope more are able to make it.

 what do you guys usually talk about in your meetings and how long are they because once i get the surgery im probably gonna need to go to those for some type of support thanks

We are a peer lead group, so we talk about whatever the group needs at the moment. So it varies from month to month.  Very laid back and casual, just there offering our experiences and information, each person is different in what they can and cant do, can and cant eat etc. So it is nice to get a good variety of folks, issues and possible ideas to help you with whatever issues or concerns you may have.

The group is for all, pre-op, post-op and your support folks can come as well (spouse, friends, family) 

We do have a dietician who attends on her own time regularly. She is awesome, answers a lot of questions worked with the Bariatric clinic at Ft Sill, OK. Very nice, and totally approachable. Her mother is WLS patient as well so even though she hasnt had the surgery she still has quite a bit of personal experience with those who have.

I hope you decide to come, no reason  you cant attend before your surgery, I know I had a lot of questions and concerns, and attended my surgeons seminar & group before my surgery, it helped a lot. We didnt have anything local at that time, our group here has just started out the past few months.
