hI everyone, im really sad for Jeanie right now. She called me while at home gathering things to go up to hospital again , just needed someone outside the family to talk to that would understand some things. and that wouldnt think she was being selfish about talking about her too. We all understand that feeling i think ....Her husband isnt doing well at all and the prognosis isnt good either. she is a mess , she said she always turned to food when bad things happened before and now she cant eat i told her to take her protein powder with her and drink protein coffee and that way she could get her protein in without getting all messed up  and to take her vits. these things she can do and not have to leave him to do them....She said she had lots of relatives and support like that but just needed someone outside the family to talk to. I told her i would continue to pray for Her Husband and would pray for her for strength and grace to be able to accept the things that she may have to accept.
She keeps thinking she wants to smoke , since that was one of the things she did too besides eat before surgery. I told her that maybe she could get some meds that will help that ...and to not stress about the cost of the hospital and doctors that they can write that off if they will ...anyway folks please keep Jeanie and her husband in prayer today....and until we hear.

I have to go to work today or i would go up and see her and let her know that we are with her .....
I have some outside work to go do right now, while it is cooler....well a little anyway lol My tomatoes arent doing so great. I think im going to have to take some more of the dirt out it is a mixture of horse poop and dirt , i think it may still be too rich. I am going to buy some of the big tomato plants that the nursery has right now and replace mine. and add more dirt to the pots. i have two that are doing wonderful and the rest arent ....so that is most of the job to do today.

Love you all i know this is short but post away and think of Jeanie once in awhile today ok

All,

HHmm, today ABSOLUTELY, nothing.  I am getting ready to go to work for a few hours, which I don't mind.  I had my preop appt yesterday.  So now everything is all in order for surgery in 2 weeks.  I just want to get it over with so I can enjoy the rest of the summer.  Getting rid of the pain is also a big plus.  I have just learned to live with it for right now.  I have for many months.  Back to the absolutely nothing.  It is my birthday and my husband is not doing a thing.  Its kind of a bummer.  I always fuss over him but he never fusses over me.

Well, I am going to try to start posting everyday.  I need to for myself.  I am taking steps as to get back on track.  I have been really good at taking my protein and vitamins.  I have the biggest problem with carbs though.  I need to start eliminating them like one thing at a time.  I think it would help me better if I do that instead of just trying to eliminate all of them.  I am determined to get down the 150s again.  I have been really bad this week.  We have celebrated 3 birthdays this week at work which means lots of take out food.

Well, I am off for now leaving for work.  I hope everyone has a good day.  I don't know about this weather.  It is starting to look gloomy here.

Jeanie, you and your family are in my prayers.

Kelly ( just a lil older today)

you can do it on getting rid of they carbs they are really hard to stay away from arent they , i guess all of us were carb addicts.  wish they would come out with a pill that you could take and it would eliminate all the carb cravings.  wouldnt that be great ?????  we are here for you so post all you can instead of eating. love and hugs ans will be saying a prayer for you about you surgery....

Happy birthday Kelly!!  You're not getting older, you're getting better.  Give the hubby a kick in the rear.  Shame on him.  My husband remembers every special day.  He got me a billfold with a picture of a Shih Tzu on it for Mothers' Day.  Can't say much for my kids.  They may call or send a card but that's it.

Those carbs are not our friends.  Too bad they don't cause weight loss.  None of us would need surgery if that were the case.

Take care and come here every day!!

So sorry to hear about Jeanie's husband.  She needs to take care of herself, but she's probably like a lot of the rest of us, she takes care of everyone but herself.

It's very humid today.  Summer is finally here.

We went to Perkins for breakfast and I had half a serving of Eggs Benedict.  I hate most of it and it tasted very good.  I had a dish of fruit which consisted of honey dew and grapes.  I've never liked honey dew.  That's changed.  It tasted really good.  The egg was good to but it was probably the Hollandaise sauce that was so good.  It no longer bothers me to leave food on the plate.  It costs the same and once I'm full, there's no more eating.  It's like the door has closed.

I've been reading the Atkins book The New You and I like it.  Part of the plan is eating plenty of veggies.  I'm starting Phase 2 because I don't have a lot to lose.  Gee, but that feels good to say that.  I remember how it was in my old life.  I had 80-90 lbs. to lose and just couldn't get much of it off.  This Atkins is really very healthy and is much like what I did right before surgery.  No more urging you to eat large quantities of protein.

I need to get off here and go to Walmart, the library and the grocery store.  This afternoon I'm going to turn on the AC in my woman cave and work on a quilt.

Yes i have more or less followed Atkins for several years.  I eat lots of green veggies anymore. especially broc , brussle sprouts and cabbage. I know i know it causes gas but if you take a pill for it before you eat it it is ok....

ive always wanted to learn to sew and quilt and all of that but i just dont have the patience to learn. My mom and grandma both tried to teach me but when i was young i would rather be with my dad or grandpa out working on the farm ...lol...

have a good day Jo and keep Jeanine in your thoughts and prayers.

I used to love broccoli and cauliflower but not I just can't digest it.  Never liked brussel sprouts.  I worked with a woman that ate them for breakfast.  We loved it when she heated them in the microwave....YUK.  I do like cooked cabbage and can eat that ok.  Atkins stresses that you must eat your veggies, just not starchy ones.

I worked on a quilt for Max.  It's a T-shirt quilt made from shirts from a hockey team that used to be here.  He loves hockey.

Bought a 4 pak of Atkins vanilla shakes and 2 boxes of bars.  I'm really going to work at this.  Darn those carbs.
