Dr. changed on me!

Hi everyone,

I have been going through the long process of getting all my ducks in a row for gastric sleeve surgery with UHC and this month will have everything on my end accomplished, now just approval from UHC, but  I originally picked NewStart and Dr. Richardson.  Now I am told he is leaving NewStart and now I have Dr. Follwell (sp?).  Anybody have and thoughts, opinions on NewStart, Dr. Follwell or the gastric sleeve procedure.  Anything will be most appreciated.

I didn't use NewStart, but I was forced to change programs completely due to insurance stupidity. Glad to see others in my area on here now I hope you can get the info you are looking for, Good Luck to you.

You will really like Dr. Follwell...He is a professional, competent and really knows what he is doing! I am with the New Start Program also and have my RNY surgery on the 29th! Currently I am on my preop liquid diet.

I had the same thing happen to me.... was going thru my 6 month diet with my doctor and as i finished they told me he was no longer with NewStart.  I wasn't happy at all.  I felt as if I had to re-do my entire packet.  Staff was friendly, however I was on top of things and knew exaclty what I needed for UHC. Needless to say I switched to another clinic and I couldn't be happier that I did.  I know this post is a little late as i just found this form for Missouri!  Good Luck though with whatever your choice is!
