When a man of God like David lives his life for the Lord nothing can harm him or come between him and God.  Saul tried several times to kill David, he tried to get others to kill David but none were successful.  Why? Because the Lord was with David at all times.  David obeyed God and His word, he did what God asked and the spirit of the Lord was always upon David.

Just like the devotional says, we got to focus on our victories and not keep dwelling on our past failures.  If we do that and do what David did we’ll have all the victories we need to focus on in our lives.  Focusing on victories instead of defeats is pretty important.  Focusing on defeats causes stress and anguish which leads to other things, high blood pressure, not eating right. Etc… but if we focus on our victories we’ll see that our lives will be so much better and so much stronger, give it a try and see for yourself.

Today’s Reading

1 Samuel 18:5-19:24
John 8:31-59
Psalm 112:1-10
Proverbs 15:12-14

Daily Devotional

II Corinthians 2:14
"Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph…"

When you think about your past, what events do you remember? What memories do you allow to play over and over in your mind? In the Old Testament, they had what they called memorial stones. These were used to remind the people about the good things God did in their lives. We need to remind ourselves today to focus on our victories. Sure, we´ve all had setbacks, but when you meditate on your disappointments and failures, it only drains you of valuable energy. It steals your confidence and joy. But when you focus on your victories, it builds your strength and confidence. It feeds your faith. It gives you a reason to give God praise. Praise catches God´s attention. He inhabits the praises of His people. And when God shows up on the scene, every enemy must flee!

I encourage you to get into the habit of focusing on your victories. Remember, every good and perfect gift comes from Him. As you praise and thank Him for His favor and victory in your life, He´ll open up supernatural doors for you to move forward into the abundant life He has for you!

Today's thought: Thank You for Your faithfulness in my life. I release every hurt from the past and choose to focus on my victories. I bless and praise You today for showing me Your goodness.

Hi Andy...

I think that is a good suggestion... I think I will make a list of the victories the Lord has given me... it surely will help give me strength and courage for the edeavors I face now.

There was a sermon I heard many years ago about re~digging your wells.  It has always encouraged me every time I dwell on that concept.  Even though in the story many many wells were sabotaged God gave the blessings of new wells and with that came a quenched thirst... there is so much to associate with that... it's always brings back many many encouraging thoughts to my mind and helps me to remember what is out there for me!

Blessings to you for the yet another day of good Word.

I did make a list of victories and was surprised at how much God really has done in my life.  When you put it all on paper it really adds up, you'll see when ya do it.  It sure all out weighs the bad things.

Have  a great day Bec,

Andy
