Prayer Request For Laura.
Hi guys. I talked to Laura yesterday after her bariatric appt in Columbia and she is very malnourshed. So they are putting her in the hospital the 25th. Will be doing surgery and putting in a feeding tube. This might sound mean but hopefully this wakes her up. I have been on her butt for over a yr to eat and take her meds. But she refused to listen. She also will be seeing a therapist after her surgery. She was already suppose to be doing that but she didn't do that either. She is scared of gaining weight back. I understand that, but i have told her if she dosen't eat she is going to die. She told me lastnight "Sis i don't wanna die".So i am asking that you please pray for her, that she will come through surgery fine and that she will get the help she needs to get healthy again.
Anyone out there afraid of eating and are not eating because you are afraid of gaining PLEASE PLEASE find a good therapist and get help before it becomes to late.

My goodness what a wake up call!! I guess those of us with eating problems who overeat can have the opposit happen just as easy after weight loss surgery. I sure will pray for her, good luck to all of you who are suffering the same. Food can be an abused drug just like crack, alcohol or cig's, only difference we can't just "quit" so I think it is much harder to get a handle on. all my best, Susan a
Pooh im so so sorry to hear that about Laura, hopefully this will be her wake up call and she can learn to understand that having weight loss surgery is not about not eating but about learning to live healthy....I understand not wanting to gain weight back but bless their hearts it happens to some of the most precious people...and people that we love and care about....I know you are hurting for her , just love her and tell her we are all praying for her to get healthy....if that means gaining a few pounds then fine..Love you take care...

Jan i really hope so too. She needs to gain about 25lbs to be healty. You can actually see the bones protruding on her. He hands are looking like skeletin hands and her ribs and collar bone is really showing. He told her he couldn't make her have the feeding tube, but did tell her he has lost 3 pts from malnution because they just refused to eat because they were in fear of gaining back all their weight.I have told her i understand her fear but she has got to eat and if she eats healthy and does what she needs to do she won't gain back to where she was.But she tells me food scares her. I just hope she will follow throgh this time with the therapist.
So sorry to hear about your sister. Seems like they should be putting her in the hospital now but I guess they know best. I understand not wanting to regain the weight. When you've struggled with weight like most of us have, the last thing you want to do is regain. We do have to eat. Food addiction isn't like other addictions where you are expected to leave the stuff alone.
I hope and pray she will get the help she needs.
