WHATS HAPPENING MONDAY

Good Morning everyone isnt it a beautiful morning? little chilly but that will change in another few hours. well Yesterday was a great productive day .....I got a bed of marigold seeds planted or rather scatered. lol .....I start out with a weedless strip up along my pathway and then till it with my rake and scatterer seeds....I did that in the two beds up front where the tulips were too. I like using marigolds because they dont require a lot of care and i dont have to water them much. just when i think of it or if it has been really hot and dry...I got the bed on the side of the house de-weeded too.....there are some cannas coming back up in there. will have to decide what i want to plant in there for color other than them since there are only about 3 that have made it back after that winter we had. they were covered with straw but it was a really cold winter. this fall i will have to dig up what i have and divide them up they are coming up really thick the ones that made it thru.....and of all the elephant ears i had i only see about 7 coming back but they have multible sprouts on them so that means a lot of bulbs there....i will dig them up and replant them so that i can have more in different areas next year. I hate to dig any thing that is why i dont plant a lot of things that have to be dug....like Dalihas i love them but i have to dig them up in the fall....I tried covering them with straw a lot about 12 inches of the stuff but they rotted on me so that isnt something that can be left in the ground here in this area i guess it is too moist in the winter months for them ....
Today we were going to go to the plant and seed festival in Mansfield but something came up lol like not enough money ...i dont like going to it if i cant buy things so i will just go to town and buy my plants i need for the shade gardens and such....need vinca and impatients....i love the little vincas they come in so many colors and look as good as impatients but dont cost as much. lol and a lot of the seeds from them come back the next year....but so far i havent seen any in the areas that i planted them in last year.
anyway will go to town this week to get plants on what ever day i can get an appointment to get hair cut....maybe...i have found a way to put it up that looks pretty cute or as cute as an old woman can look lol
I know i want to get Joe to figure out a way to put this white plastic lattice panels i bought at a garage sale last year up on the sides of the pagoda...i really got a good buy on those things i got 6 full 4x8 sheets of plastic white lattice for 20.00 and she threw in 4 half sheets and several little pieces. wow now you talk about a deal huh?

My neighbor just gave me 2 green and 2 yellow bell pepper plants they bought too many. I tried to pay him and he said no that was ok. so that is a savings. and yesterday he gave me 3 Pink girl tomatoe plants and i ask him if he needed or wanted any yellow tomatoe plants that i have so we traded those. also i have lots of Jalapeno plants that i started. and i gave him 4 of those. ...

So today need to get Joe to till the garden again so i can get started on planting things. .My early garden is really looking good and we had some lettuce salad out of the garden last night with our meal. have had lots of green onions am leaving several to make into big onions. have you seen the price of onions in the grocery store lately? that is outrageous. ...

Everyone remember Jeanie this morning as she has her surgery...Jeanie if you havent left your house yet we love you and will be praying for you.....

Yesterday was so nice.  I did more shopping and it was just the right temperature to be out and about.  When I started losing weight I said I was going to keep my wardrobe small and mix and match.  Not happening.  I bought 2 tops and 2dresses yesterday.  The dresses are the same style, different colors.  They have the empire waist.  One dress fits perfectly and the other one doesn't.  The waistline hits me right across the bust.  Everything was on sale.  Guess I do need to curb my shopping though.  I have plenty to wear.  I walked past the women's area and thought how big the tops looked.  Checked the size and it's what I used to wear.

Hope all goes well for Jeanie and I'm sure it will.  She has done well preparing herself.

The dinner at the Mexican place was awful.  I'm never going there again no matter what the occasion.  We don't like anything about the place.  The SIL was in one of his moods.  He can be very moody and you just want to smack him.  Max's daughter was so involved with some friends of theirs she didn't seem to know we were there.  The GD whose BD we were celebrating never said a word to us.  If it hadn't been for a couple other relatives we would have had no one to talk to.  The Quacamole was very spicy and it burned my pouch.  I ordered a cheese enchilada and couldn't eat it.  We went to the house for cake and ice cream and I don't eat that stuff.  I was so glad to get home.

Family.....what a pain they can be!!

Today I'm sticking with a high protein diet.  Usually I have a Fiber One bar mid-morning but it has 29 carbs so I'm not having it.  I'll have protein coffee.  I did bring Chili for lunch but it's healthy.  It's hard to go a whole day with nothing to chew.  I know I did it for 2 weeks prior to WLS, but I can't seem to make myself do it now.  If I want to lose the rest of my weight I have to buckle down and track what I eat, omit carbs and exercise.  Tonight I'm going to a Zumba class.

I did work in my woman cave and did some mending and shortened a dress.  I plan to work out there in the evening this week.  With all the clothes I've bought I really don't need to make any so I'll finish what I've started.  Then, I want to work on baby quilts for charity.

Jo you are right family sure can be a pain but we arent allowed to pick our family so we are usually stuck with  what we get lol ....
good luck on sticking with a high protein diet. It wasnt hard to stick with the liquids before surgery because of the antipitation of surgery and what all was going to happen but now it is for another 2 or 3 pounds ,which is great but our minds say , big whoopee....i wish you loads of luck tho. but you are like me the lack of exercise that gets the heart rate up is what we are lacking. what we eat isnt probably the fault but lack of a fast paced exercise. I grant you that if you go to Zumba classes it will get your heart rate going and you will sweat too. lol

It's definitely Monday, I tried to be in denial but the clock and calendar set me straight right away! Jeannie is sure on my mind, I cannot wait to hear that she is ok.
We had a crazy busy weekend but it was nice. My sister form NC was here wed-Fri and that is always a blessing. I got my hair done on Friday afternoon which gives me the chance to visit with some super sweet gals I don't see often.
Saturday was very full, My daughter had to be at school at 8am for her softball game about 50 miles from home, I followed the bus and watched the game. She has done great for her first season. raced home to get my middle son off to Prom. He was so handsome and had a wonderful time. My hubby helps to chaperone so we go to prom as well. It made for a late night but nice. I wish we could have saved money on my ticket based on the amount of my dinner I ate!
Sunday was church and a nap and viola! it's Monday again. I'm at work now and I think we have a fairly normal evening, first one of those in a long time. Do we have our CoF group this friday or next? I've lost track.

Good Afternoon All.......

Just had a nice talk with Debbie Darl'n.  It's always lifts my spirits to talk to any of you that I have met here.  I actually seen she was on down in the corner of my screen....so she called and we chatted....nice feature they added.

Jeanie Rae ~ has sure been in my prayers this morning as she starts her new journey.  I pray she does wonderful and in the very near future is able to get out and do the things she wants to do!  Wishing her an easy and non complicated recovery!

I was just about to get on and post for any of you that get the K~Mart ad to please let me know when the Thera Shoes goes on sale again... I figured it would be a long time since they just recently had them on sale but my neighbor stepped out on her porch as I was going by yesterday and told me they were in this weeks ad... so I got up and was in town early this morning to get 3 pair.  I try and keep 4 pair ahead since I'm afraid that they will quit carrying them... at only $19.99 you just can't beat it.  So I'm set for a while with them.  I can get 4 pair for what one pair of Sketchers cost ... the Sketchers are more comfortable but do NOT hold up on my gravel like the others.  I only just blew out my very first pair of the Thera Shoes recently and I've been wearing them for about 8 months... I was doing good for a pair to last me 3 or 4 months with all of other shoes I have had.  I'm just real thankful that I found those Thera Shoes, my neighbor told me about them.

Went to see my mom this past weekend... she had not seen me for awhile and I think she thought I had lost enough weight... she told me I did not look a bit over 160... that was nice but then no one can believe I weigh as much as I do.  My Paul even told me a day or so ago that I was looking "thin"... his way of telling me he could tell I'd lost more... he's funny.  We ALL know I'm NOT "thin"... but I am working extra hard to get to my goal...hopefully in another month... we will see....?

Say Mimi ~ those lilies you gave me are setting on blooms!  I can't wait to see what they look like!  The chives are in bloom real big too!  The lilac bush is still living as well.... and the hollyhock too even though that rabbit assaulted it! ~tee hee.... I seem to have things going right well for the time being at least... I have a new bed to make for around my light pole... that will take more energy than I seem to have right now?

So far my blackberry bushes seem to be doing well...

I'm hoping that Sutherland's still has there bushes on sale this weekend as I decided to put grapes on the arbor outside my garage.  Will be fun to watch them grow and set on fruit and then I think I will start a few morning glories on them too... make a bit of color there as well...?  Do you think that will work Mimi?

Gee willikers you have been busy around your place... it is wearing even me out reading all you are doing out there!  I have lots and lots to get done around here but seem to be short on the energy right now I need to get it done... will have to do it bits at a time... today I just have to get my fountain cleaned out and new water in it and have plants that really need to get in the planters around it... if I can just get that much done today it would be nice...

I LOVED the pics you posted!  That pink iris was simply BEAU~TEE~MUSS!!!  I don't think the one you gave me will bloom this year... it doesn't look too healthy but maybe next year it will be all rooted real good?

I sure am enjoying watching everything around here grow that you gave me.

Well I guess I better get on with the day and see if I can do even a little...

Jo ~ it just thrills me to read all the community projects you do.  It sure is nice that you give so much of yourself!  I know you are blessed for it.  I would just love to go to the Rumba class with you but I'm NOT very coordinated AT ALL! and my hips would get to going one way and forget to come back! ~tee hee

Susan ~ you just have to have Andy put a pic on here when you get your new glasses... I want to see them.  Hope you like them I know you will be glad to have new ones, the others were just not suited to you any more... isn't that great!

Cheryl ~ it was good to see you post... take it easy this evening and enjoy the "normal"... sometimes "normal" is GOOD!!!

Susy Alba ~ I'm so glad your surgery went well... I know you are just going to be so happy when you get all healed up and get to enjoy the benefits of all that pain! ~ha Best wishes to you!

Blessing to all...

Bec thanks for the info on the shoes. mine are getting a little worn so i really am needing some new ones i sure hope they dont quit making them they are the only shoes i can wear and work.. no kidding the only thing that keeps my back from hurting.

oh yeah the chives are pretty in bloom and they put off seeds so you will have more plants come up next year ....but when they start blooming the stems get hard and you cant use the chives but after the blooms are gone if you enjoy them then cut the chives back to the ground and new fresh tender chives will come up....
glad the lily is going to bloom you will love them i think...the iris probalby needs to have the leaves cut back about to 3 inches long and water it about once a wee****il you see it starting to grow then stop watering it ,,,,iris need no extra water. they dont like to keep their feet wet . i didnt think that would bloom this year as it was the wrong time of the year to dig up and plant iris. but wanted you to have a start of it. it is beautiful and they multiply fast.
